Several reports have suggested that ousted Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad may have been poisoned in Moscow. According to these reports, he fell ill on Sunday afternoon. Assad has been under the protection of Russian President Vladimir Putin since fleeing Syria in December 2024. A social media account, General SVR, operated by a former Russian spy, stated that Assad sought medical assistance after experiencing coughing and choking. On the social media account, it has been claimed that Bashar al-Assad called the security guards after he was...

Smoke and ash from urban wildfires, like those in Los Angeles, may put people at risk of short- and long-term health problems The fires raging in Los Angeles have destroyed thousands of structures, and the death toll is rising. Along with the wildfires, residents must deal with other hazards: smoke and ash. Smoke is made of tiny particles. Smoke particles 2.5 micrometers or smaller in size — known as PM2.5 — are particularly concerning in terms of health. This is because they can enter deep into the airways and tissue of the lungs. The particles can even travel from the...

A few hundred years ago, coffee was almost an unknown commodity with hardly a handful of countries consuming it at a commercial scale. But today, it is a sought-after drink that drives multiple companies to compete for the world’s best beans. An estimated 21 billion pounds of green coffee are produced annually across more than 25 million acres worldwide. U.S., Brazil, and Japan are the top coffee-consuming countries. Though late to the caffeinated party, China is now driving global demand. In the 2023-2024 crop year, China’s consumption reached nearly six million 60-kilogram bags, while domestic production stood at less than...

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is reportedly attempting to kill the Laken Riley Act, a bill that requires the DHS to take illegal aliens who have been charged, arrested, or convicted for crimes such as theft, larceny, burglary or shoplifting into custody. Pablo Manriquez, a news reporter, wrote in a post on X that “sources at DHS” were informing him that the cost of the Laken Riley Act was estimated to be between $20-$30 billion. Manriquez added that the DHS sources had cited “a $7 billion figure just for beds BEFORE the mandate’s costs on...

Dementia Joe’s disastrous presidency can’t end soon enough. While he’s busy offering clemency to child rapists and murderers (and teasing the prospect of pardons for the lawfare tyrants who tormented his political adversaries these miserable last four years), his chief operating officer handling the Democrats’ suicidal open borders policy — Department of Homeland (in)Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — is preoccupied with shielding a million more foreign nationals from future deportation. This extra protection for Venezuelans, El Salvadorans, Ukrainians, and Sudanese is in addition, of course, to the lawless Biden regime’s ongoing criminal conspiracy to aid and abet international drug smugglers,...

“‘If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread’” (Matthew 4:3). Before Satan tempted Jesus more directly, he threw out a cynical challenge to test Christ’s deity. The devil’s conditional statement, “If You are the Son of God,” assumed that Jesus was indeed God’s beloved Son (3:17). But he hoped to persuade Him into a demonstration of divine power that would violate God’s plan, which called for Jesus to set aside His divine power while on earth and use it only when the Father commanded. If Satan could make Jesus presume upon His divine rights and...

They had the plan already waiting in the wings. Waiting for funding...just waiting for the crisis, and Newsome isn’t going to let it go to waste. This is what will be sold to the public. And it will all be either done or working prototype before the summer Olympics, heck the Athletes might be first one’s to test it all out in 2028. Newsome will look like a hero for resurrecting the area from the ashes. Via X on Meet the Press: Newsom: We’ve got a Marshall plan to rebuild Los Angeles 2.0 NBC: Tell us about that Marshall plan...

Kentucky Republican Rep. Thomas Massie has an incredibly simple proposal for reducing both welfare spending and illegal immigration. As the new Congress convened, the lawmaker took to social media and asked how anyone can argue against “work requirements for able-bodied individuals on welfare.” He then noted how passing a simple work requirement could address two of the most severe drains on the nation while benefiting the economy as a whole. “Implement this and not only does the deficit go down, demand for illegal immigrant labor is reduced, and national economic productivity increases,” Massie wrote of his proposal. “Republicans should pass...

A shocking analysis has found that the devastating Palisades Fire in Los Angeles may have been started by the rekindling of a New Year's Eve blaze. Evidence reviewed by The Washington Post suggests that the Palisades inferno was ignited in the same spot where fire crews put out flames a week before - and residents claim their response the second time was much slower. The Palisades Fire - the largest of the three blazes ripping through Los Angeles -ignited on January 7 and has scorched 23,713 acres and is only 13 per cent contained as of Sunday. A week before...

Apparently nothing in the world can happen without it being about Palestinians. Climate change, Black Lives Matter, women’s rights, the Olympics, COVID-19, LGBTQ rights, Christmas and now the California fires. The disgusting responses from Palestinian activists across social media shows the true hateful agenda of the “free Palestine” cult. Enough.

China announced on Monday that its trade surplus reached almost $1 trillion last year as its exports swamped the globe, while the country’s own businesses and households spent cautiously on imports. When adjusted for inflation, China’s trade surplus last year far exceeded any in the world in the past century, even those of export powerhouses like Germany, Japan or the United States. Chinese factories are dominating global manufacturing on a scale not experienced by any country since the United States after World War II. The outpouring of goods from Chinese factories has drawn criticism from an ever-lengthening list of China’s...
