On Saturday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Cavuto Live,” Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) said that the country is seeing another Hitler with President-Elect Donald Trump. While discussing the 2024 elections, Clyburn said that the country has swung back and forth between left and right over the years, and, at the moment, is swinging to the right, “I hope it’s not going as far right as that which happened in Germany in the 1930s, which, you may remember, I forewarned way back in 2018 that I saw this coming. I’ve studied history all of my life. … And I can...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A racist term for a Native American woman will be removed from nearly three dozen geographic features and place names on California lands, the state Natural Resources Agency announced Friday. California Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2022 signed a bill into law that bans use of the word “squaw” in future place names and ordered the agency rename all places that used the slur, including on streets, bridges, public buildings and cemeteries, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday. New names have been selected in consultation with California’s Native American tribes for over 30 locations in 15 counties.

On MSNBC's "All In," Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) analyzed his Party's defeat in the recent election, saying "our Party became very intolerant, very judgmental of people who thought differently than us on social and cultural issues and other tough subjects like guns and climate. We created a lot of litmus tests and become pretty exclusionary. Now our Party is shrinking, not growing." Later on the same day on CNN's "The Lead," Murphy declared Matt Gaetz "dangerously unqualified. This is going to be a red-alert moment for American democracy. Matt Gaetz is being nominated for one reason and one reason only....

It took the members of Styx 35 years to come to terms with a song that tore the 1970s rockers apart at the seams. But last year, James “JY” Young, Tommy Shaw and the rest of the band started playing “Mr. Roboto” again in its entirety. It came down to the fans. Whenever they bought a T-shirt from the concert merchandise booth or passed the lighting console within earshot of the longtime lighting director, fans would bemoan the fact that the band skipped the song. “The merch guy who’s worked with us for years selling t-shirts got five to 10...

In a post-election interview, Pelosi made this point when the interviewer challenged her on the impact of the surge of migrants across the southern border. Pelosi criticized Trump for saying the undocumented immigrants were criminals, saying “they weren’t, they weren’t.” The interviewer shot back that “people felt quite strongly that they didn’t want to see immigrants sleeping in police stations, at airports.” “I don’t think we were clear enough by saying fewer people came in under President Joe Biden than came under Donald Trump,” Pelosi responded. “It’s clarity of the message, and if that’s what Bernie [Sanders] is talking about,...

LIMA — Lame-duck President Biden was relegated to the back corner of the APEC conference’s annual family photo — as Chinese President Xi Jinping was honored with a front-and-center position next to the host country’s President Dina Boluarte. The petty humiliation of America’s leader comes ahead of his Saturday afternoon meeting with Xi — who has been feted with relative pomp throughout the event as thanks for his country’s financing of a large new port on Peru’s coast. Biden, 81, whose increasing irrelevance domestically and on the world stage has earned him the moniker of “super lame duck,” arrived last...

An Ohio 'school principal of the year' was suspended after sending staff members a controversial message following Donald Trump's election victory last week. Monica Asher, 43, the principal of Olentangy Orange High School, is the subject of controversy over a newsletter she sent to staffers of the school where she discussed the results of the presidential election. 'I can't write a message that pretends like the election didn't happen; especially when so many of you are struggling with how to move forward,' she wrote on Monday.

Fragments of 10 to 20 human skulls have been discovered in a burned-out house in a small town in New Mexico, raising unsettling questions about who the bones belonged to and how the people died, investigators said this week. The Lea County sheriff, Corey Helton, said that the bones had been discovered this month inside a dilapidated property in Jal, N.M., which is home to about 2,200 people in the arid southeastern corner of the state, by the Texas border.

The Pentagon on Friday failed its seventh audit in a row, with the nation’s largest government agency still unable to fully account for its more than $824 billion budget, though officials stress they are making good progress toward a clean audit in 2028. The Department of Defense technically earned a disclaimer of opinion, meaning it failed to provide sufficient information to auditors to form an accurate opinion.

onald Trump II is a brave new world, and look no further than his strange choice of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the Health and Human Services Department. Only months ago Mr. Trump was calling the Kennedy family scion a “liberal lunatic,” yet now he wants to hand RFK Jr. the power to “make America healthy again.” Good luck making sense of this nomination.

ATLANTA (AP) — After losing the White House and both houses of Congress, Democrats are grappling with how to handle transgender politics and policy following a campaign that featured withering and often misleading GOP attacks on the issue. There is plenty of second-guessing after President-elect Donald Trump anchored his victory over Vice President Kamala Harris with sweeping promises on the economy and immigration. But Democrats also will not soon forget the punchline in anti-transgender Trump ads that became ubiquitous by Election Day: “Kamala is for they/them; President Trump is for you.”

Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign shelled out $2.6 million on private jet travel in the final, dying gasps of her presidential run — bringing her failed campaign’s total tally on the environmentally unfriendly mode of transportation to a staggering $12 million, records show. As Harris’ team desperately shuttled across the nation to host rallies and coax voter turnout between Oct. 1 and Oct. 17, her campaign ponied up nearly $2.2 million to the south Florida-based company Private Jet Services Group, along with $430,000 to Arlington, Va.-based charter flight broker Advanced Aviation Team, according to Federal Election Commission data. The reliance...

Republican Nick Begich has ousted incumbent Democrat Rep. Mary Peltola to win Alaska’s lone House seat, Decision Desk HQ projects. That marks 220 seats for Republicans, surpassing the 218 needed to control the chamber. A little over two years after Peltola flipped the red state’s at-large congressional district into Democratic control, Republicans coalesced behind Begich to help boost him to another flip. Peltola finished first in this summer’s top-four, nonpartisan primary, followed by Begich and Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom (R). But Dahlstrom, backed by former President Trump, then bowed out of the race as the party sought to avoid fissures...
