Republican Nick Begich has ousted incumbent Democrat Rep. Mary Peltola to win Alaska’s lone House seat, Decision Desk HQ projects. That marks 220 seats for Republicans, surpassing the 218 needed to control the chamber.
A little over two years after Peltola flipped the red state’s at-large congressional district into Democratic control, Republicans coalesced behind Begich to help boost him to another flip.
Peltola finished first in this summer’s top-four, nonpartisan primary, followed by Begich and Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom (R). But Dahlstrom, backed by former President Trump, then bowed out of the race as the party sought to avoid fissures that were seen as paving the path for Peltola in the midterms.

Very!
Good..now let’s get some more seats and get this show on the road
They got rid of rank choice. Murkowski will be gone too next election since she will not be able to split the Republican vote with rank choice. Bye, Lisa
Anyone know the status of ranked choice repeal prop 2 in Alaska?
435 total-433 decided=2 undecided
Anyone know where they are at and what the status is?
So it passed? PTL!
Yes, they got rid of ranked choice
Duarte and Michele Steele in California; both Rs. Duarte is ahead by about 2000 votes with 14 percent to count. Steele is ahead by 57 votes with 7 percent to count.
Thx
Thank you
Mary got in because of
1) ranked choice voting
2) Sara Palin, who couldn’t win, refused to drop out owing to her massive ego.
The real loser is Mur-cow-ski. Mary P ran her Native Corp funded loser campaign (I) after being primaried out by the (R) party.
They got RVC pushed thru (via massive, massive outside money) just in time for her to get the slot once more. With RCV voting out, Mur-cow-ski will have to decide to run as a Dem (she is a virtual Dem now) as a Pubbie or as an Independent.
Make no mistake, a *whole lot of folks* want to see here gone.
An incredible amount of $$$ was spent pushing Mary P and to keep RCV, both of which failed.
Now, maybe, we can get control of our State back from the Leftist lunatics now running things.
Those seats are both in California. In one the Republican is leading by 2008 votes, and it has been holding with every vote update.
The other seat is California 45, and she is leading by 58 votes. The problem with this one, is that with every update she has been losing her lead. At one point she had a 9500-vote lead. This one does not look good to me.
Good indeed!
But we need Sarah Palin!
Duarte R-CA (Fresno area, iirc) is ahead by 1.2%+ with 86% counted and has held steady....pending CA hi-jinx.
Decision Desk HQ has one more out there besides Duarte, but not sure where it is...SoCal probably. 221 is a loss of 1 over current config. Lee Zeldin pulled several Rs over the line in NY in ‘22 and those 3 are back in blue.
How many Ds in red districts will flip and join the good guys once they absorb what just hit ‘em.
Cal 45 is Michelle Steel. v. Tran.....south LA Asian community, iirc.
50+ vote lead with about 20K votes to be counted....a nail-biter
They got rid of rank choice?!?!?! THANK GOD! Murkowski’s days are numbered!
I almost took a job up there waaaaaay back in the late 2000’s at Eielson. Always wondered how life would have panned out up there, pardon the pun.
They are both Asian. The problem is that this district has been gerrymandered by the Democrats, so it is not only in Orange County, but also in Los Angeles County. She is losing the Los Angles County part of the vote 60% to 40% the last time I checked.
