The Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas, was caught shopping for luxury clothing as North Carolina continues to face the devastating fallout from its recent hurricane. Mayorkas, whose sub-agency FEMA is responsible for handling the response to the extreme weather event, was snapped by a reporter for the Washington Free Beacon strolling through the mens section of Sid Mashburn, a high-end menswear store, surrounded by his extensive security detail.

Polling data suggests Republican Donald Trump now has an overwhelming likelihood of victory in next month’s presidential election. However, conservatives have been urged against complacency as polls continue to lean in the former president’s favor. A key finding from CNN’s “Poll of Polls” suggested Trump had a 68.4% probability of winning the election. The poll marks bad news for Democrat Kamala Harris, who’s chances are down to 31.6%.

I have often been asked why the media never runs a story on our computer, the ONLY Artificial Intelligence computer with a real track record of over 40 years that has called every major shift in the world economy and correctly forecasted wars to the point of even targeting Ukraine years in advance. All I can do is warn that our computer has mapped it all out and has never been wrong in the major global trends. You would think the media would be knocking on the door. But they are bought and paid for and are not interested in...

In a consistory...

Tropical Storm Milton is gathering strength in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to become a hurricane within the next day or so. Unlike many tropical systems, it will move west to east over much of the Gulf of Mexico, so it has plenty of warm water ahead of it. The official hurricane track issued by the National Hurricane Center is a potential worst-case scenario for the Tampa Bay region of Florida, and winds could be 120 mph or greater. My first Sunday morning views of Milton from weather satellites suggest that the storm is showing signs of intensification....

Surprise occurs in many forms. Many think of it in terms of a surprise attack, but it occurs in other dimensions. The full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 is a good example: the attack was foreseen, but the immediate outcomes were astonishing. To use an old Soviet phrase, analysts misunderstood in fundamental ways the “correlation of forces.” Their judgments about Russian and Ukrainian military capacity were not merely off—they were wildly at variance with reality. And even more perplexing, leading and widely acknowledged experts misjudged with a degree of certainty that in retrospect is no less remarkable than the...

Flights from all Iran's airports will be canceled until 6 a.m. local time (0230 GMT) on Monday from 9 p.m. on Sunday, Iran's state media said, citing a spokesperson for Iran's Civil Aviation Organization. The flights have been canceled due to operational restrictions, state media cited the spokesperson as saying without providing further details. Iran implemented restrictions on flights on Tuesday when it launched missiles at Israel, in an attack to which Israel vowed to respond.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police arrested a 10-year-old boy for allegedly driving a stolen vehicle near a school playground last month – and it’s not the boy’s first brush with the law, police said. The Sept. 20 incident was caught on video. The Minneapolis Police Department said it happened at Nellie Stone Johnson School in north Minneapolis when the playground was “crowded.” “Fortunately, no children on the playground were struck by the driver,” the department said. Police booked the 10-year-old into the Hennepin County Juvenile Detention Center Thursday. According to the department, this is at least his third arrest and he is...

Daily Readings from the USCCBThe Pharisees approached Jesus and asked, “Is it lawful for a husband to divorce his wife?” They were testing him. Mark 10:2The Pharisees were not interested in the deepest truths of God. They were only interested in twisting God’s truths in an attempt to prove their own self-righteousness. The question they posed to Jesus was a trap, but Jesus doesn’t fall into it. He asks them what Moses taught about the love in marriage and then explains that their understanding of Moses’ teaching was based on the hardness of their hearts and not the original intent...

Vice President Kamala Harris declined to say Sunday whether Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a reliable ally, in a clip released by CBS News’ 60 Minutes. Harris was presented with a series of controversial (but effective) wartime decisions made by Netanyahu against the express public demands of the Biden administration, then asked whether the U.S. still has any “sway” over Netanyahu. Harris was not clear in her reply, calling diplomatic relations with Israel an “ongoing pursuit.”

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) claimed Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press” that special counsel Jack Smith’s new court filing was so close to the presidential election because of former President Donald Trump’s legal delays. Kristen Welker said, “I want to ask you about the timing of all of this, Congressman, which you know has been in focus. The former federal prosecutor referred to this brief as Jack Smith’s, quote, October cheap shot. Donald Trump has accused the Justice Department of election interference essentially by violating its longstanding practice not to take public steps in politically related cases close to an...

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week” that Democrats’ political rhetoric against former President Donald Trump had “incited dangerous people to do dangerous things.” Johnson said, “I just saw the clip so I didn’t watch all the remarks from Pennsylvania. I will tell you I talked to President Trump right after it. He was pleased. They had a massive crowd and a lot of enthusiasm and energy. I didn’t hear all the comments. I don’t know the context. The clip that I just heard that you just played there, George, I don’t think they’re saying that the...

Ne’man Abu Jarad sat on a tarp on the ground. Around him, canvas sheets hung from cords, forming the walls of his tent. For the past year, Ne’man; his wife, Majida; and their six daughters have trekked the length of the Gaza Strip, trying to survive as Israeli forces wreaked destruction around them. It’s a far cry from their house in northern Gaza — a place of comforting routine, of love, affection and safety. A place where loved ones gathered around the kitchen table or on the roof on summer evenings amid the scent of roses and jasmine flowers. “Your...

Voters will get the chance to hear from Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday as she presents her case for why she should be president in a "60 Minutes" election special. For decades, "60 Minutes" has featured both Republican and Democratic nominees for presidents, but this year, former President Donald Trump backed out after previously indicating he would be on the show. Correspondent Scott Pelley, who'd been set to interview Trump, will instead travel to Arizona's Maricopa County, home to more than 60% of Arizona's voters and a critical battleground in a key swing state.

Where’s Kam? It’s a question a growing number of Democrats are asking as the vice president is increasingly MIA on the campaign trail as the 2024 presidential contest enters its final month. “There’s a time at which you just have to barnstorm these battlegrounds,” Obama campaign guru David Axelrod told Politico. “These races are decathlons, and there are a lot of events, and you have to do all of them because people want to test you.” Axelrod said Harris needed to be doing more interviews, including with tougher audiences, and that voters were expecting to see more of her. While...

Two potential futures, neither clear. It’s Schrodinger’s election. Some people are predicting a Trump landslide, based both on the various predictors and on the haplessness of Kamala’s part-time campaign and fourth-rate running mate. It’s plausible. The nation isn’t in great shape, despite the finagling of interest rates and unemployment figures (expect a bigger-than-usual downward revision of the employment numbers for this month after the election), the Biden Administration, after running on a “return to normalcy” after the “chaos” of the Trump years, has delivered chaos in spades, and there’s a pervasive sense, everywhere from NASA to FEMA to the U.S. Navy, that...

President Joe Biden remains mentally fit to serve as commander-in-chief, spokesman for Vice President Kamala Harris, Ian Sams, told Axios on Sunday. The octogenarian stepped aside from the 2024 presidential race in July due to pressure from Democrats following his disastrous debate performance in which he appeared to slur his words and deliver unclear thoughts. “Of course,” Sams told Axios’ Alex Thompson when questioned whether Harris could “fully assure” voters about Biden’s “hour-by-hour performance.” Harris has continually defended Biden’s fitness, causing critics to argue Harris covered up Biden’s health leading up to the debate.

I will make him a helpmate.’ So from the soil the Lord God fashioned all the wild beasts and all the birds of heaven. These he brought to the man to see what he would call them; each one was to bear the name the man would give it. The man gave names to all the...
