Tropical Storm Milton is gathering strength in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to become a hurricane within the next day or so. Unlike many tropical systems, it will move west to east over much of the Gulf of Mexico, so it has plenty of warm water ahead of it. The official hurricane track issued by the National Hurricane Center is a potential worst-case scenario for the Tampa Bay region of Florida, and winds could be 120 mph or greater.
My first Sunday morning views of Milton from weather satellites suggest that the storm is showing signs of intensification. The NHC discussion wrote, “Regardless of the details, there is increasing confidence that a powerful hurricane with life-threatening hazards will be affecting portions of the Florida west coast around the middle of this week.” What are some of the details? The storm is much smaller in size than Helene, which means that it can strengthen or weaken rapidly.

As a Floridian, who has cleaned up the tree debris from my yard and moved it to the street curb, my main concern is that Milton will have strong enough winds to scatter the pile of tree debris from Helene.
So, just call Florida for the Democrats?
Those in the path will need to watch this one carefully.
Milton the Monster?
I guess they finally gave up on “perfect storm.”
Stop...isn’t Tampa heavily liberal?
I live in Daytona and the consensus model has the eye coming over my house Thursday around 2 AM. My biggest concern is I heard this one is gonna spawn a bunch of tornados.
now this is a strange one....born in the lower Bay and moving west to east across the entire Gulf of Mexico and to hit Florida. Cant recall one ever doing that.
Hurricane Phoenix...
Well, you can’t certify an election with so many disenfranchised libs, can you?
Like most people, I’m kind of reeling from Helene, although I am in Delaware, not near this storm.
But many Delaware towns have names beginning with “mil” so I’m just woke up this morn and hearing about this storm and the word MILTON and with sleepy mind I’m getting hysterical.
“Holy Cow,” my sleepy mind thought. “Damn if we don’t have a hurricane coming right to Milton,” I continued my sleepy thought, than considered where we would go to escape the storm.
So there is a storm named Milton and it looks bad. Meanwhile, here in Delaware, we need more rain!
It should be noted that a high end 2/low end 3 can still cause life threatening storm surge in the Tampa Bay area up to 15 feet, as well as widespread power outages and rainfall flooding.

There’s a city in Wisconsin called Milton, northeast of Janesville.
There have been inquiries as to how to help those in the Flood Zone...Samaritan’s Purse is based in the Zone, and can be trusted to spend your money WISELY. You can also visit Give.Send.Go and find someone in the Zone (TN and NC) you can contribute to...be WISE as serpents. :-) Perhaps pick out a church YOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH in the Zone (I will try to post a list of area churches later this week.)
Remember...NO Red Cross or United Way. Period.
What have the dem-evils been up to? Have they changed the weather pattern already? Have they been doin’ the dance over Florida?
Who’s next?
Oh dear, Oh my, begin the hand wringing. This will be the worst (XXX - fill in the blank) ever!!
