For the last couple of years I have been looking at relocating out of North Kalifornia (aka Washington State), the political climate and values I hold dear are no longer recognized or respected. I cannot hold onto the hope that the Idaho boarder shifts my way. Texas was my first choice, then I remembered how many poisonous crawlers live there, and honestly I need my mountains, evergreen trees and snow. Alaska really is the state for me. It will pain me to leave my mountain (Mt. St Helens). For years I have felt a calling to Alaska, not just because...

Another document from August 2020 is included in the public records release and warns of potential violence stemming from protests against COVID-19 lockdown policies and unrest following the death of George Floyd. Warning: If you work for any major woke corporation, you’d better sit down for this. What all the corporations fear is the Bud Light boycott works. Suppose rational people decide they don’t want someone mocking women as the spokesperson of the product they use. Then, all dozen or so companies that already have deals with Mulvaney are at risk. And not just them, any company that foists woke garbage on its customers suddenly might face the music or simply face customers who go to less-woke competitors. That’s why Bud Light doesn’t want anyone to remember. It can’t risk it.

Twenty-two days before his assassination, John F. Kennedy signed the most important piece of legislation of his presidency – the Community Mental Health Act. The act provided federal funding for mental health and research facilities across America. It fueled the United States’ de-institutionalization movement, social and medical reform that shut down “insane asylums” and treated the mentally ill with psychiatric drugs. The Community Mental Health Act, signed on Halloween 1963, arguably stands as the Emancipation Proclamation for the mentally ill. I know this because yesterday a Twitter user sent me down a mental health rabbit hole with a single tweet....

Tom Hanks has made the suggestion that Idris Elba should be selected to play the next iteration of James Bond. Elba has been linked to the famous Ian Fleming character for some time now but has kept quiet on the matter. His new film, Luther: The Fallen Sun, sees his character order a martini, which some fans viewed as something of a Bond audition. In response to the martini scene, Elba told the Radio Times: “My Bond audition? Oh my God, no! I’ve been saying for years, no… The martini line is a bit cheeky, isn’t it?” Meanwhile, Hanks backed...

To the surprise of many, voices of sanity are finally beginning to break through in the rigid media atmosphere in Poland as it relates to the war in Ukraine. In a country that has been at the forefront of supporting the regime in Kiev and where state institutions do not shy away from vigorously prosecuting infringements on the official propaganda line, whereby Moscow is the Evil Empire, Vladimir Putin is Adolf Hitler and Volodymyr Zelensky is (who else?) Winston Churchill, such a change in tone coming from representatives of the Polish military elites is indicative of a turning point. What...

Fox News paid $787 million to settle a recent lawsuit on its reporting after the 2020 election to avoid a divisive trial and lengthy appeals process, its parent company’s chief executive said on Tuesday. Lachlan Murdoch, executive chairman and CEO of Fox Corp., also noted that a Delaware judge “severely limited” Fox’s defenses against Dominion Voting Systems, which said the network defamed it by airing bogus charges of election fraud that it knew was untrue. The brilliant political strategists of the Georgia Republican Assembly – a group of GOP officials within the party who have been gaining power and influence within the party infrastructure for a while now – have decided to go into all-out war with elected GOP officials and others they have deemed “traitors” to the party. The idea, which is questionable at best, would allow for the Georgia state convention to bar candidates from running as Republicans. It’s being championed by a far-right group that has long been at war with the likes of Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad...

American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten was hit with a Twitter fact-check on Monday after she claimed she tried to get students back into the classroom during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
