The Georgia Republican Party Goes to War With Georgia Republicans
Red State ^ | 5/9/23 | Joe Cunningham

Posted on 05/09/2023 6:10:25 PM PDT by CFW

The brilliant political strategists of the Georgia Republican Assembly – a group of GOP officials within the party who have been gaining power and influence within the party infrastructure for a while now – have decided to go into all-out war with elected GOP officials and others they have deemed “traitors” to the party.

The idea, which is questionable at best, would allow for the Georgia state convention to bar candidates from running as Republicans. It’s being championed by a far-right group that has long been at war with the likes of Governor Brian Kemp and Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger over the 2020 election.

I say go for it! Hold Rinos feet to the fire! Georgia is slowly moving further and further to the left. We now have two Democrat Senators. That's due to our Governor and Secretary of State and their actions. We need to stop that leftward movement.

Excellent. I love it. There is nothing unconstitutional about it. The party can set its own rules. It is a voluntary organization after all.

RINO turds like Kemp and Ratburger need to be flushed.

For as long as I have been a voter (1996), the GOP establishment has been at war with its own electorate. For all our concessions, we have been rewarded with capitulation and consistent political defeat. They are the enemy, and should be treated as such- I applaud any efforts therein.

Same for me. Notice Kemp isn’t going to the party convention. He can’t run again so there is no need. He got what he wanted, turned his back on conservatives on many issues, and will walk away to a cushy federal job or lobbyist position. Meanwhile we will have a hard time dislodging the two Democrat Senators.

I recall his folksy commercials with his truck claiming he was gonna round up illegals himself. Quite a contrast from his current GOP establishment positioning.

It kind of started, a little bit, with Deal. Kemp, Raffensberger, Duncan(gone Thank the Lord), Ralston(gone gone and I have zero respect for that corrupt SOB), Miller(absolute clown and gone), and Carr have done some legit damage to the state.

Sure would be nice to see an aggressive AG or DA unravel how Kemp got all of his campaign debt cleared and then, lo and behold, Loeffler and her husband become Senators.

Kemp is so compromised it’s embarrassing. That movie money and all the EV money is ruining this state.

BTW, anyone from Georgia know the results of the question on last years primary ballot about giving money to the movie industry? I can only speak for the small circle I deal with and no one wants those liberal pricks here, another day.

And please, don’t anyone post Kemp’s prepared press release about how the industry generated over $4billion last year and had 34 “blockbuster movies”. If they generatedthat much then it no longer needs our money and there aren’t anymore blockbuster movies. All they film in Georgia, for the most part, is streaming drivel and Christmas shows.

Sounds good to me. I am war with the RINOs in the Republican party like Cheney and Romney.

He isn’t smart enough to lobby or do anything else.

He was the lesser of two evils when he ran against Cagle and Abrams.

I’m betting he’s got enough money from the movie folks and EV folks that he won’t be poor.

Pure POS.

Interesting article on how they do things down here.

As a private entity, a party has the right to determine who is and is not a member of that voluntary association, and therefore, who may or may not use its name.

Suppose Biden or Bernie Sanders wanted to run as a Republican. Would the GOP just have to let them do so? Of course not.

YUP!!!!

That seat was bought for access. Loeffler was scrutinized for going into meetings and then making certain trades. Has her hubby been looked at for the same? Only he didn’t have to attend the meetings. He had someone else do it for him.

Isn’t this the same thing as what they did in Tennessee when they shut out Starbuck and the woman from Fox?

Those two were challenged on the legitimacy of their residence in the state (too recent a move to run and questionable party credentials). We got the best possible outcome with Andy Ogles getting the TN-5 nomination and election. With Starbuck and Ortagus(?), the primary vote could’ve been split and handed to the RINO Beth Harwell.

I got it.

However, with regards to Starbuck, I listened to a Shawn Ryan podcast that had him on. At this point except for about 3 or 4 members of Congress, they’re all snakes, IMHO. But his interview was pretty good.

He had nothing nice to say about Bezos, Amazon, and the business model used to dominate the online landscape.

Well, as with a lot of people, they may talk a good game, but...

There were a few issues with him (residency, as I cited), the fact he was seen as a California Carpetbagger, his peculiar “stage” name - like he was playing a character from “Battlestar Galactica” (his actual last name is the same as the CA Governor, Newsom), the fact he was using his family’s money and hadn’t really accomplished anything for himself (here, son, take this $$ and move to a Republican state and buy yourself a high office). Had not proven any bona fides outside of talking about himself. It would’ve been a different story had he been seen out and about fighting for Conservative causes in the Nashville area and putting $$ behind it.

He’ll be clear to run for office (meeting basic party residency requirements) next year, but, again, he’s still not being seen as out in the trenches. Nashville proper is lacking for Conservative leaders, so if he wants to claim the mantle, he’s got to get out there, or he will continue to be seen as just an opportunist.

It’s about time that the grass-roots rose up and started turning these turkeys out.

Got ya. Makes sense.

But I think Nashville is done. Too many liberals and hipsters there and with Amazons 2 hq, it’s only going to get worse, sadly.

A buddy lives in Franklin or Brentwood. He’s been up there a while and was loving it. Then all the development in Nashville started. He was doing cartwheels over his home value going through the roof. Now...not so much. He’s had enough of the over development, traffic and the liberal leaning of Nashville.

But, as we all know, any place liberals and hipsters show up, that place will be ruined.

Fortunately, we have a legislature that can lean on the city if it goes totally off the rails into Marxistland. Sadly not the case with other nutball cities in other states.

Amazon had to make some cutbacks on its big plans downtown (at least one major skyscraper project was placed on hold, if not outright canceled). Of course, Nashville was never really a “Conservative” city, at least not in the modern era. We’ve had nothing but left-wing Mayors for 48 years straight and there hasn’t been a Republican one elected since Grover Cleveland was in the White House.
