New research shows that people with a higher blood DHA level are 49% less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease vs. those with lower levels, according to the Fatty Acid Research Institute (FARI). The study, led by Aleix Sala-Vila, Ph.D., suggested that providing extra dietary omega-3 DHA, especially for those carrying the ApoE4 gene (which approximately doubles an individual's susceptibility to develop AD) might slow the development of the disease. Such a cost-effective, low-risk dietary intervention like this could potentially save billions in health care costs. In this prospective observational study, researchers examined the association of red blood cell (RBC) docosahexaenoic...

Former President Donald Trump’s embrace of American exceptionalism has brought forth upon this nation a patriotic rebirth of our founding principles that he will only diminish should he persist in his evident determination to run for reelection in 2024. Today we are engaged in a great and perhaps ultimate spiritual battle challenging the future of the Judeo-Christian principles so dear to our Founders. As John Adams warned, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Perhaps Mr. Trump’s most enduring contribution will be that he radicalized a...

A newly surfaced video that shows what many describe as abuse of a boy at Agape Boarding School in the late 1990s has renewed calls to close the school. In the footage, a man who former students say is Frank Burton — a long-time pastor at the Cedar County school — can be seen forcing a boy wearing a bathrobe to run alongside him around the perimeter of an outdoor volleyball court, which also served as the school’s boot camp area. It’s been common practice at the school to make boys wear robes if they were on suicide watch or...

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve heard people yammer on and on about how horrible classic cars are for the environment. Usually their eyes are bugging out, spittle’s flying out of their mouth, and they’re absolutely filled with self-righteousness but few facts. They’ll vehemently insist that driving your old Camaro, Mustang, Charger, or whatever you own is absolutely destroying the planet in real time while refusing to discuss the process of extracting minerals for making EV batteries, let alone the insane energy levels required in the manufacturing process. That’s why reading a new study from UK insurance...

Calcium channel blockers may improve treatment for pancreatic cancer patients receiving gemcitabine-based chemotherapy. "These exciting data suggest that the addition of a calcium channel blocker to gemcitabine may have some benefits, especially since calcium channel blockers have a very favorable toxicity profile, are low cost and are readily available," said Thao Pham, Ph.D. Pancreatic cancer generally has poor survival rates due in part to resistance to chemotherapy. While palliative chemotherapy can improve patients' symptoms and overall quality of life, more effective treatment options are desperately needed. In the study, the investigators sought to identify new treatment strategies to prevent or...

...It’s easy to look at the gas pump right now and think that station owners are taking you for a ride. But the business model of gas stations is a bit counterintuitive. Most gas stations barely turn a profit on their core product — and when the price of oil goes up they may even take a loss on it. Battling small margins, cutthroat competition, and the looming threat of electric vehicles, many gas stations are more reliant than ever on secondary revenue streams.... The profit pipeline Gasoline begins its journey as crude oil, largely sourced on home soil in...

TUCKER CARLSON (HOST): One of the political opponents the January 6th Committee is targeting is a man called Jeff Clark. He was Assistant Attorney General during the previous administration. Presently, I'm at a ladies homeless shelter that's run by Catholic nuns. Being low-income, so often I see where American Bible-believing churches are nowhere to be found although the Lord is at work. As He says, where He is, there will His servants be also. And while I believe I'm not "worthy" to be homeless, in any case, helping the homeless is supposed to be about mercy and charity regardless of their "merit" (with qualifications due to bad actions by some individuals).
