This song is 44 years old.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I was in college when this came out. Definitely part of the sound track of my life. Some Girls was a statement that the Stones were still a force.

Until about 3 years ago, I thought Mick (on “Miss You”) was singing “those Puerto Rican girls are dy-na-meeto!”

Isn’t it “die-an to meet chu” (dying to meet you) ?

The singles from Shattered are terrible. Same with Emotional Rescue. Miss You may have been the worst song ever recorded to enter the pop charts, worse than “There’s a New Sound (Worms)”

Sticky Fingers was the last worthwhile thing they did. Gimme Shelter and Tell Me (the long version) were the two best songs they ever did.

Worst song ever to top the charts in my lifetime was “Don’t Worry Be Happy.”

Nice flashback. I was in high school when "Some Girls" came out and those photos really bring back what inner cities (not just NYC) looked like in the 1970s. Everything was gritty and a little bit dangerous. At the time, society was said to be crumbling and it seemed like we were in our last days.
The song "Shattered" really brings out the sleaze and decadence that was NYC at the time.
Hardly did we know that we were just a few years away from President Reagan and a booming economy that would continue for decades (with a few hiccups along the way).
How I wish I could go back to 1978, knowing what I know now. Actually 1980 would be a better time to start all over again.

I went decades before learning there was an extended version of Miss You with extra lyrics, etc. I felt robbed and cheated. Some Girls is one of my favorite albums.

I still have that album with all the celeb photos. (Never opened!)
Apparently there were “issues” with some of the faces on the album so later releases just had blank spaces for some of the celebs.

Well, from Jagger, I think the very worst was "State of Shock", which was on the three song play list rotation on the radio station at my summer job in 1984.
