Joe Biden is telling staffers that he wants the Justice Department to prosecute former President Trump and other political opponents. In an article about Attorney General Merrick Garland ‘facing pressure as the January 6 investigation widens,’ The New York Times claimed Biden wants Garland to prosecute Trump. The New York Times reported: “As recently as late last year, Mr. Biden confided to his inner circle that he believed former President Donald J. Trump was a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted, according to two people familiar with his comments.” “And while the president has never communicated his frustrations directly...

Thank God for the Twitter account “Libs of TikTok.” Whoever the anonymous woman running that account is, she’s doing the Lord’s work when it comes to exposing the general public to the entitled brats now working as teachers in the public school system across the country. It’s hilarious and horrifying all at once, and something needs to be done about it if we’re going to stand a chance of returning to sanity in this country. A lot of teachers, and I mean a lot of them, need to be tossed out on their asses, and soon. What Christopher Rufo did...

To knock out Russian vehicles, Ukrainian teams lie in wait along roads — sometimes for days — before firing their missiles and sprinting away to their own vehicles for a quick escape. That’s the basic tactic the Ukrainians have worked out as Russia’s wider war in Ukraine enters its sixth week. Ukrainian missileers packing foreign-supplied anti-tank guided missiles, such as the American Javelin, as well as locally made ATGMs such as the Stugna-P and Corsar, have plunked at the Russian invasion force, knocking out a vehicle here and a vehicle there until the losses have become unsustainable for the Kremlin....

AUSTIN — Confederate flags were banned from NASCAR events in June 2020, and some fans have seemingly started to get behind a new pennant — one that is unabashedly mixing politics and sports. At this weekend's NASCAR race at the Circuit of the Americas outside Austin, a walk through the car and RV parking lots revealed how effective NASCAR's ban on Confederate flags has been. Among the vehicles for the estimated 70,000 fans, not a single Confederate battle flag or any other flag representing the South's fight during the Civil War was spotted. But one banner that was conspicuously popular...

Kansas senators early Thursday morning narrowly passed a bill that would force pharmacists to fill unproven off-label prescriptions for drugs intended to treat or prevent COVID-19. The bill's promotion of ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine has been a priority of right-wing Republicans, as well as its protection for doctors against health board investigations and anti-vaccine mandate measure. The Senate worked on a host of bills into the early morning hours in a marathon session. The off-label drug bill, HB 2280, passed 21-16 shortly before 1:30 a.m. "Thousands of Kansans and hundreds of thousands of Americans have died because of this propaganda that...

The current treatment of patients diagnosed with advanced or metastatic head and neck cancer (HNC) is ineffective. Researchers have investigated and validated a potential treatment combination against the aggressive disease driven by hyper-activation of a specific signaling pathway, which is found in over 40% of HNC patients. Specifically, the authors showed in pre-clinical HNC models that treating tumor-bearing mice with a therapy that blocks this signaling pathway, sensitizes tumors to the immunotherapy of anti-PD1, resulting in the disappearance of tumors after the therapy combination. This effective treatment was validated in four HNC cancer models, and most mice were cured with...

Lithuania will no longer import Russian gas to meet its domestic needs, becoming the first country in Europe to have secured its independence from Russian supplies, the country's energy ministry said on Saturday. All natural gas for Lithuanian domestic consumption will be imported via the liquified natural gas (LNG) import terminal in the port of Klaipeda, the ministry said in a statement. "From this month on - no more Russian gas in Lithuania," Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda tweeted on Saturday, saying the country is breaking "energy ties with the aggressor".

ROME — Pope Francis called for greater openness to migrants Saturday, appealing for a change of narrative from the primacy of national security to the primacy of welcome. Addressing civil authorities on the first day of his visit to the island nation of Malta, the pontiff urged his hearers to open their hearts and “rediscover the beauty of serving our neighbors in need.” “Today, when those who cross the Mediterranean in search of salvation are met with fear and the narrative of ‘invasion’ and safeguarding one’s own security at any price seems to be the primary goal,” Francis said, “let...

Joe Biden is fine. Seriously, don’t even think about suggesting he’s not. There is nothing abnormal or concerning about his mental state, and increasingly, his physical state as well. To even delve into such a discussion is to push wild conspiracy theories, backed by no real-world examples at all. Oh, wait, it’s April 2nd. Sorry, got my days mixed up there. On Saturday morning, the president spoke to members of the US Navy, and in doing so, he not only seemed to forget he was vice president, but he bestowed the title on his wife, Jill Biden. Again, though, he’s...

(CNN)Fewer people are hospitalized with Covid-19 in the United States now than at any other point in the pandemic, but hospitals and staff continue to feel the strain. As of Friday, there are 16,138 people in the hospital with Covid-19 -- fewer than there have ever been since the US Department of Health and Human Services first started tracking in July 2020. Just 2% of hospital beds are currently in use for Covid-19 patients. Previously, the lowest point was in late June 2021, just before Delta became the dominant variant in the country. Covid-19 hospitalizations reached a peak in January...

While most American cities are opening up and lifting COVID-19 restrictions, one of the biggest cities in the world has been shut back down. Shanghai, China's most populous city with some 25 million inhabitants, was largely at a standstill on Friday as China battles its worst wave of coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic. CBS News' Lucy Craft reports the hardships of the lockdown have raised questions about the Chinese government's adherence to its hardline "zero-COVID" strategy.

Dr. Peterson Pierre is warning expecting mothers to “look out” for their own kids, since the CDC is not changing their COVID shot recommendations, despite the spike in preborn deaths. One of America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) is warning pregnant women that the COVID jab rollout has coincided with a nearly 2,000 percent increase in fetal deaths, as compared to the rate during previous vaccines. In a “Frontline Flash” segment entitled “Huge Preborn Death Spike” released Monday, Dr. Peterson Pierre presented statistics showing that the rate of fetal death per vaccine administered in the U.S. had, in fact, massively increased since...

The month starts off with three bright planets clustered low in our east-southeast sky just before sunrise. Venus, Saturn and Mars are within six degrees of separation, but each morning thereafter the configuration noticeably changes. Mars and Saturn approach each other more closely than the apparent diameter of the moon on April 5. A view of the predawn sky on April 19, 2022 in Stellarium shows the alignment of Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Saturn. They fell ill after eating the raw oysters at Travail Kitchen in Robbinsdale on March 20. The restaurant notified public health authorities and has since stopped serving the oysters, according to officials. The Stellar Bay Gold oysters had originated from Deep Bay 14-8 in British Columbia, and were harvested on March 10. Public health agencies are encouraging people to check shellstock tags and discard oysters from the particular harvest. To mitigate the spread, health experts say to wash your hands after using the bathroom, and before preparing food for others.

ALincoln Project video calling on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to recuse himself from cases involving the January 6 Capitol riot has been viewed more than half a million times as of Saturday afternoon, following its release on Friday. Justice Thomas has faced pressure to recuse himself from such cases since reports outlining the role that his wife, Virginia "Ginni" Thomas, played in attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Text messages she allegedly sent to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows showed her expressing support for overturning the election, based on unproven claims of voter fraud.

Between the two towers of Westbank‘s WB1200 development in Seattle, a repurposed Boeing 747 is soon to be suspended. The body of the massive airplane will float above the residential project’s galleria as a centerpiece and a symbol of industrial innovation, on view as a sensational artifact for both pedestrians at street level and for residents in their dwellings overhead. Ian Gillespie, founder of Vancouver-based Westbank, leads the project with the aim of celebrating innovation. That’s why the fuselage will not only hang between the apartment towers an art object, but as occupiable space. The reused Boeing 747 will function...
