Doctors discovered he had a deviated septum -- a condition in which the partition between nasal passages is pushed to one side -- and a rhinoscopy conducted with a small camera discovered the cause -- a tooth growing on "the floor of the right nostril." The ectopic tooth, a term for a tooth growing in an abnormal place, was measured at about .6 inch long. The surgeons said they removed the tooth without complications, and the man reported during a follow-up visit three months after the procedure that he was able to breath normally through both nostrils.

Ryan even testified on Brown’s behalf when she was nominated to the district court in 2012, offering his “unequivocal” endorsement of her qualifications in recommending her for the bench.“Our politics may differ, but my praise for Ketanji’s intellect, for her character, for her integrity is unequivocal,” Ryan said at her December 2012 nomination hearing. “She’s an amazing person, and I favorably recommend her consideration.” -snip- “We’re family, by marriage,” Ryan explained in the 2012 hearing. “Her brother and sister-in-law, who are my brother and sister-in-law, William and Dana Jackson, are here with us as well today.”

In a grimly ridiculous moment Thursday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki claimed that Joe Biden wasn’t being serious when he said that “No one expected the sanctions to prevent anything from happening,” with Russia and Ukraine, moments after announcing more sanctions. Biden stated that “Putin’s not going to say ‘oh, my God, the sanctions are coming,’” almost in the same breath as having announced that he would bring more sanctions on Russia. Psaki claimed “That’s not exactly what he meant,” without providing a better explanation for what the hell Biden was talking about:

Frank Barbieri, Jr., Board Chair of the Palm Beach County school board, cursed school police out after a contentious school board meeting Wednesday night. [Catholic Caucus] What Next for the FSSP & Co? The February 11 papal decree granting the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter the continued use of liturgical books according to the traditional rite is a pleasant surprise. But in the environment created by Traditionis Custodes and the document from the Congregation for Divine Worship, Pope Francis’s step, unexpected in this form, also raises irritating questions. Too great is the contradiction between the will expressed in these documents to oust the traditional liturgy from the life of the Roman Church and the willingness now expressed to maintain the care of the...

It's hard to find consensus these days, but everyone seems to agree that there was something rotten about the 2022 Beijing Olympic Games. Not the athletes and the sporting events, of course; they trained their entire lives to compete, were as brilliant as ever and are not responsible for the decisions that led to such a cursed and corrupt event. Athletes aside, just about everything else was horrible. Condemnation came from all corners. Some called these the "Genocide Games." Others the "Dystopian Olympics." NBC's ratings for the games were the lowest in televised Olympic history. The stunning 2008 Beijing Summer...

Customers and workers at most Target stores no longer have to wear masks. The Minnesota-based retailer updated its policies on Feb. 21, saying masks won’t be required as long as local regulations don’t force stores to require them. “The health and safety of our guests and team members have been Target’s top priority throughout the pandemic. As COVID-19 cases continue to decline across the country, Target will not require our U.S. team members or guests to wear masks, as local regulations allow,” Target said in a statement. “We’ll follow all state and local COVID-19 safety regulations and encourage our team...

President Joe Biden has made his choice to replace Justice Stephen Breyer on the Supreme Court, according to multiple media reports. Biden will announce today that he will nominate Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, to the court. If confirmed, Jackson would become the first Black woman to serve on the court. She is 51. That would make her the second-youngest justice on the current court. Justice Amy Coney Barrett turned 50 in January. She would also be the first justice since Thurgood Marshall who served as a longtime defense...

What are the implications of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine? Could it be that we are on the edge of a massively costly, truly disastrous, global war? And what does this feel like for the people of Ukraine? The brother of my personal assistant is married to a Ukrainian woman (they both live here in the US), and as of Thursday morning, my assistant received this report from his brother: “Her parents, who live now in Nova Kakhovka [in Ukraine] have Russian flags planted in their city. Roads and bridges and some airports have been blown up. There’s no access to...

The View” co-host Joy Behar has sparked outrage for an unbelievably tone-deaf remark on the show — where she complained that the war in Ukraine may disrupt her European vacation. The vocal 79-year-old stuck her foot firmly in her mouth when the panelists discussed the Russian invasion of Ukraine on Thursday’s show.

Amid Thursday morning coverage of the air attacks in Ukraine by Russia, CNN aired an Applebee’s ad — side-by-side with the headline “Russia Invades Ukraine” – and reactions were not favorable. In response, Applebee’s suspended its ads on the network, telling Forbes.com it was “deeply concerned about the situation in Ukraine.” “When we were made aware that our ad was placed in this manner, we immediately reached out to CNN to pause our advertising on their network,” Applebee’s said in the statement. “It never should have aired, and we are disappointed in the actions of the network.”

Alec Baldwin reflected on the Buddha's teachings of living a truthful life on Thursday, just hours after his role in the "Rust" shooting was called into question once again. The 63-year-old actor took to his social media accounts on Thursday to share a reflective post which included a quote from the Buddha. He did not share the origin of the quote. On Twitter, he quoted the Budda saying, "In the same way, Rahula, when anyone feels no shame in telling a deliberate lie, there is no evil, I tell you, they will not do. Thus, Rahula, you should train yourself,...

I am aware that Kiev is falling to the Russians. I’m also aware that our global elites have determined that we are now to pronounce it ‘Keeve’ and spell it ‘Kyiv.’ Modern day elites always tend to focus on the most superficial facets of a situation, especially when they’ve no clue what else to do. Jean Carré, the muzzle-wearing “special presidential envoy for climate” – whatever the hell that is.Case in point:Former Secretary of State John Kerry appeared for an interview to express his regret that the war between Ukraine and Russia is distracting people from climate change. Kerry, the...

A serious president would look to dynamic solutions to confront a power hungry realist like Vladimir Putin. But Joe Biden has so-far proven to be incapable of leveraging U.S. power abroad, and Kamala Harris is by no means up to the task either. Since the start of his presidency, Biden has leaned hard into what could be called a radical environmentalist agenda, essentially declaring war on American energy that isn’t wind or solar. We saw this when Biden canceled the Keystone natural gas pipeline, issued moratoriums on oil and gas leases, and with the administration's emphasis on Environmental Social Guidance...
