Dead people will no longer receive a funeral escort from the Asheville Police Department. Neither will police respond to calls reporting theft under $1,000, fraud, identity theft or simple assaults. The Asheville Police Dept. blamed the cutback on services as a result of a severe shortage of officers. Since 2020 the department has lost 30 percent of its officers and detectives. Police Chief David Zack told the local newspaper that delayed response times — for crimes, such as fraud and many thefts under $1,000 — and even more service cuts are likely as APD struggles to fill vacancies that now...

Researchers at the University of Sydney's Charles Perkins Centre have conducted the largest-ever study of nutrient interactions by examining the health of mice on 33 different diets containing various combinations of protein to carbs, and different sources of carbohydrate. They found that a low-protein (10% of dietary energy), high-carbohydrate (70%) diet produced either the healthiest or unhealthiest metabolic outcomes of all 33 diets, depending on the kind of carbs. When carbs were made up mainly of resistant starch, a form of starch that is resistant to digestion and is fermented by bacteria in the gut, the low protein diet was...

...The Baytown nurse is one of 117 healthcare workers now suing Houston Methodist. The lawsuit claims it’s illegal to force employees to participate in a vaccine clinical trial. Bridges said they have a hearing in federal court this week. “If we can win that battle, we won’t be fired. If we don’t and they win, we will get terminated, but it will go to the Supreme Court as a wrongful termination lawsuit. We will fight this until the bitter end,” she said. Bridges started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the group’s legal representation. Dr. Marc Boom, CEO and...

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — The state Supreme Court ruled Monday that there is no constitutional or statutory requirement to compensate businesses for financial losses due to emergency public health orders during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ruling in favor of Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham scuttles about 20 lawsuits against her administration. The original plaintiffs argued that aggressive health restrictions from the administration constituted a regulatory taking much like the taking of land for public works projects. The governor urged the Supreme Court to block the lawsuits. In a unanimous opinion from Justice Shannon Bacon, the court said that current public...

Tens of thousands sick, dead and suffering Americans, shutdowns in every direction, tens of thousands of bankrupt businesses, hundreds of thousands of lost jobs, millions of lost opportunities and all this cost America trillions? Yet our stores and woke companies are still peddling all these Communist Chinese products? Sometimes I fell like I'm the only one who finds all this extremely disturbing. Everywhere I look I still see, "Made in China".

The annual peak of global heat-trapping carbon dioxide in the air has reached another dangerous milestone: 50% higher than when the industrial age began. And the average rate of increase is faster than ever, scientists reported Monday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the average carbon dioxide level for May was 419.13 parts per million. That’s 1.82 parts per million higher than May 2020 and 50% higher than the stable pre-industrial levels of 280 parts per million, said NOAA climate scientist Pieter Tans. Carbon dioxide levels peak every May just before plant life in the Northern Hemisphere blossoms, sucking...

The liberal media loves to accuse President Trump and Republicans at large of pushing conspiracy theories. But it was Morning Joe today that pushed a huge one itself: nothing less than that Republicans would steal the 2024 presidential election by altering the electoral vote count. Mika Brzezinski kicked things off by reading at length from a column by Yale professor Timothy Snyder, wherein he spun the conspiracy theory. The Snyder scenario [emphasis added]: "The Republican candidate in 2024 loses the popular vote by several million and the electoral vote by the margin of a few states. State legislatures, claiming fraud,...

You might think that you’d do a lot to support your favorite artists, but chances are your story wouldn’t match that of Bruce Iglauer’s. When he wanted to hear an album by his favorite Chicago blues act that didn’t actually exist, he created an entire record label just to have something to put on his home stereo and to spread the word on the artist. Now, more than 350 releases later, Alligator Records will mark its 50th anniversary this month with a 3-CD label anthology 50 Years of Genuine Houserockin’ Music. It comes out on June 18, the same day...

When Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman announced that Saudi Arabia was no longer an oil-producing country, he likely didn’t mean literally. “Saudi Arabia is no longer an oil country, it’s an energy-producing country,” the Energy Minister told S&P Global Platts this week. Saudi Arabia has high green ambitions that include gas production, renewables, and hydrogen. “I urge the world to accept this as a reality. We are going to be winners of all these activities. Saudi Arabia will surely benefit from the green transition. While the Exxons, Chevrons, and Shells of the world are busy doing climate...

The Anthony Fauci email scandal is blowing up with new leaks showing that Fauci knew at least as far back as February 2020 that Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19) “vaccines” threaten to enhance the spread of disease. ==================================================================== Fauci was asked by University of Chicago research associate William J. Buikema on Feb. 28 of last year about why vaccines still in the early testing phase could not be used for emergency purposes to keep everyone “safe” against the Chinese Virus. Fauci’s response was to instruct National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) deputy director Cristina Cassetti to inform Buikema that the...

We all saw what unfolded on January 6 at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. It was a national embarrassment and an utter disgrace. CNN and many other news outlets have never stopped reminding us about that fact, in an attempt to further smear former President Trump and all 75 million of his supporters. But in all their extensive coverage of the fallout of the “insurrection,” most of the national media refuses to report on the atrocious living conditions to which some of the roughly 300 rioters who were arrested have been subjected as they await their sentencing from D.C....

U.S.—A shocking study has found an increasing number of Democratic state governors are fleeing to Florida, desperate to escape the ravages of their own COVID lockdown policies. The report found that Governors Whitmer, Newsom, and Cuomo have already secretly purchased homes in The Sunshine State. "Let me be clear. Florida is a deep dark pit of deep right-wing darkness," said Newsom as he watched his servants pack up his U-Haul. "But also, their restaurants are actually still in business, and I'm really hungry." The study also found that Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has secretly been making trips to...
