“Instead of looking for innovative ways to help the American people, Speaker Pelosi has chosen to pursue ‘impeachment 2.0’ with a partisan and unnecessary oversight committee,” a spokesman for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the names of seven Democratic lawmakers to serve on a newly created coronavirus investigative committee, but Republicans are rejecting the new panel as a “partisan pursuit.” Pelosi on Wednesday named some of the most anti-Trump Democrats to serve on the committee, which Democrats created without the help of Republican votes during an emergency House session last week. Republicans said they aren’t...

The English theologian George Hawkins Pember, in his 1876 masterpiece, Earth’s Earliest Ages, analysed the prophecy of Jesus Christ that says the end times would be a repeat of “the days of Noah.” Pember outlined the seven great causes of the antediluvian destruction and documented their developmental beginnings in his lifetime. The seventh and most fearful sign, Pember wrote, would be the return of the spirits of Nephilim, “the appearance upon earth of beings from the Principality of the Air, and their unlawful intercourse with the human race.” Jesus Himself, in answering His disciples concerning the signs of His coming...

"When used for COVID-19, successful worldwide treatment protocols recommend low dose, short duration (5-7 days) hydroxychloroquine early in the illness to help reduce severity and rate of spread, and reduce hospitalizations. Why the firestorm against HCQ to be used for 5-7 days in COVID-19, when it is used for decades at higher doses in Lupus and RA? It simply makes no medical sense."

More than 3.8 million people filed for unemployment benefits last week, according to the Labor Department, as the coronavirus pandemic’s economic toll burrowed deeper into the American workforce. The outbreak and subsequent recession have wiped away all jobs created since the 2008 financial crisis. Economists estimate the national unemployment rate sits between 15 and 20 percent, compared to about 25 percent at the peak of the Great Depression. For comparison, 4.4 million people applied for benefits for the week ending April 18., and 30.3 million have sought benefits in the past six weeks alone. That figure represents roughly 1 in...

We know some members may find this inconvenient or objectionable, but under the circumstances we believe the...

LONDON (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell RDSa. cut its dividend for the first time since World War Two on Thursday in a drastic step to preserve cash as it prepares for a protracted slump in demand for oil because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Anglo-Dutch energy company also suspended share buybacks and said it would reduce oil and gas output by about a quarter after its net profit almost halved in the first three months of 2020 to $2.9 billion. The new measures combined with cuts in capital spending and planned cost reductions announced last month could save Shell almost...

Despite the growing uproar from many of his progressive supporters over the sexual assault allegation leveled against presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., has remained quiet on the matter in recent days. The only time Sanders mentioned the allegation against Biden was earlier this month during an interview with CBS, in which the Vermont lawmaker asserted that “any woman who feels that she was assaulted has every right in the world to stand up and make her claims." But Sanders added that he did not know enough about the claims to comment further. “I think that...

With medical supplies in high demand, federal authorities say health workers can wear surgical masks for protection while treating COVID-19 patients — but growing evidence suggests the practice is putting workers in jeopardy. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently said lower-grade surgical masks are “an acceptable alternative” to N95 masks unless workers are performing an intubation or another procedure on a COVID patient that could unleash a high volume of virus particles. America’s health care workers are dying from the coronavirus pandemic. These are some of the first tragic cases. But scholars, nonprofit leaders and former regulators in...

Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano reacted with outrage on Thursday to FBI documents that show officials discussed their motivations for interviewing Michael Flynn in the White House in January 2017 — and openly questioned if their "goal" was "to get him to lie, so we can prosecute him or get him fired." Napolitano told “Fox & Friends” that any person who believes that the “laws should be applied fairly should be utterly scandalized and outraged” by the FBI’s scheme to set up the then-national security adviser to be prosecuted. “Whether they like him or not, whether he’s guilty...

President Trump blasted what he called the “scam” against Michael Flynn as newly released FBI files revealed agents discussing their motivations for interviewing the former national security adviser -- in turn, raising serious questions about the future of the case against him. As speculation about a possible pardon or other scenarios ramped up, Trump also tweeted in all-caps: "DIRTY COP JAMES COMEY GOT CAUGHT!" Comey, who has been at sharp odds with Trump ever since his 2017 firing, oversaw the bureau at the time of Flynn's fateful FBI interview.
