By Captain George Livingstone – As we witness the COVID-19 crisis spread around the world it seems this big problem could morph and spread into a myriad of problems with the end result being collectively bigger than the original. The crux of the matter being there no clear horizon looking forward. According to livescience.com, In the United States on 4/13/20 there were about 550,000 cases nationally of COVID-19. And in this mountain shall the Lord of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord...

Citing massive revenue losses, UW Health and UnityPoint Meriter on Tuesday announced pay cuts and other measures that will put some nurses and support staff out of work to stanch the financial bleeding from the COVID-19 outbreak. “These are not easy changes and we had hoped to avoid them,” said UW Health CEO Alan Kaplan in a Tuesday morning email to faculty and staff. “While we were able to limit drastic reductions in the first few months of our response, the dramatic and continued deterioration of the health industry economics left us few options.” SSM St. Mary’s, the city’s third...

For most Americans, it’s just another day of anxiety-producing quarantine as the unemployment rates continue to skyrocket, and they wonder whether the coronavirus-induced recession is going to turn into a depression. For others, there’s a silver lining. This year’s celebration of “Earth Day” is giving environmental alarmists some grim satisfaction. While most people are lamenting the collapse of the economy, some activists are happy that the earth is being given a “rest” from the ravages of capitalism. In the weeks leading up to the annual environmental festival, there has been a steady stream of commentary on “the gifts of the...

When the IMHE models were introduced, there was a pretty high peak in the number of COVID-19 infections. Related to this high peak, there were a significant number of hospitalizations and deaths in a very short time period. The fear was we would run out of hospital beds and critical care resources such as ventilators. The Coronavirus Task Force extended their original guidelines to slow the spread from 15 days to 30. The goal was to flatten the curve on the IMHE model. What It Is What does “flatten the curve” mean? It meant we as a nation were buying...

New York and New Jersey, combined, account for more than half of U.S. COVID-19 deaths. Both of these states require nursing homes to admit patients who have tested positive for COVID-19. In my opinion, this policy constitutes mass murder. New York and New Jersey, combined, account for more than half of U.S. COVID-19 deaths. As of the afternoon of April 22, 2020, the U.S. has had a total of 46,771 deaths from COVID-19.20,167 were in New York.5,063 were in New Jersey. In other words, these two states, combined, account for more than half of all COVID-19 deaths in the entire country. Here’s a link...

A federal appeals court has overturned a judge’s ruling and allowed the state of Arkansas to ban abortions under an order to stop medically unnecessary procedures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Arkansas is one of several states that included elective abortions in its restrictions on non-essential medical procedures during the pandemic. Earlier this spring, the state Department of Health ordered a halt to procedures “that can be safely postponed” except for instances to prevent the death, permanent physical damage or disease advancement of a patient. State leaders included the killing of unborn babies in abortions in their order. However, the Little...

California’s Highway Patrol (CHP) said it will no longer grant permits for protests on state property, including the state Capitol, following demonstrations Monday against Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) stay-at-home order. Officer John Ortega told The Hill Wednesday that effective immediately any permit request at state facilities, including the state Capitol, will be denied until public health officials determine it is safe to gather again. The decision is in the interest of public safety and the health of Californians during the COVID-19 pandemic, he said. The ban was first reported by The Sacramento Bee. CHP said protesters on Monday did not...

As the lockdown continues across the world, pharmaceutical companies are accelerating their efforts to provide a vaccine to prevent the spread of the virus. Unfortunately, Moderna, the company which has gained prominence in news headlines for developing Mrna-1273 vaccine to fight the disease, uses cells of aborted babies. Although alternatives exist which could be considered morally acceptable, they are not getting as much coverage as Moderna’s vaccine work. Suspicions about the vaccine were raised after checking Moderna’s patents and in particular, the use of the Spike (S) protein. The idea behind using this Spike protein in a vaccine with messenger...

In the 2018 election, the people of Harris County – the home county for the City of Houston – made the idiotic decision to deny another term to Ed Emmett, one of the finest County Judges who ever served in that capacity anywhere in Texas. Instead, in their not-so-infinite wisdom, Harris County voters elevated a 27 year-old Soros disciple named Lina Hidalgo to the position of leading a county with a population of roughly 4.6 million people. Today, the tab for that massive bit of mindless stupidity came due, as young Ms. Hidalgo decided that it would be a great...

WASHINGTON—The COVID-19 pandemicis going to have serious implications for how businesses think about China. Souring sentiment against the Chinese Communist regime in the past few weeks may force many corporate boards to alter their whole supply chains in a very short time. There will be a “forced decoupling” from China, meaning cutting off economic ties due to national and strategic reasons, according to Kyle Bass, hedge fund manager and founder of Hayman Capital Management. In an interview for The Epoch Times’ “American Thought Leaders” program, Bass said: “The misery that China has brought to the rest of the world with this virus has really been shining...

It’s been exactly 16 years since the loss of American patriot Pat Tillman. Who is Tillman? Pat Tillman was an Arizona State University linebacker who won multiple awards for his playing before being picked by the Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL) where he began a successful career as a safety. At the peak of his career in 2002, Tillman turned down a $3.6 million contract from the Cardinals to enlist in the U.S. Army with his younger brother Kevin following the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, where he was killed by...

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God" (Matt. 5:9). True peace exists only where truth reigns. People often define peace as the absence of conflict, but God sees it differently. The absence of conflict is merely a truce, which might end overt hostilities but doesn't resolve the underlying issues. A truce simply introduces a cold war, which often drives the conflict underground, where it smolders until erupting in physical or emotional disaster. James 3:17 says, "The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable." Godly wisdom, purity, and peace go hand- in-hand. Peace is wisdom...
