When the IMHE models were introduced, there was a pretty high peak in the number of COVID-19 infections. Related to this high peak, there were a significant number of hospitalizations and deaths in a very short time period. The fear was we would run out of hospital beds and critical care resources such as ventilators. The Coronavirus Task Force extended their original guidelines to slow the spread from 15 days to 30. The goal was to flatten the curve on the IMHE model. What It Is
What does “flatten the curve” mean? It meant we as a nation were buying time to ramp up medical resources so that every patient could receive needed care and to try and identify effective therapeutics. Largely, these goals have been met. Every patient who has required an ICU bed or a ventilator has been provided one. We have been able to shift these resources between regions with outbreaks. The federal government continues to build additional capacity in the event it is needed.
There are also dozens of clinical trials going on for therapeutic drugs. Clinicians have offered anecdotal information based on patient experience and we continue to refine how those with severe disease are cared for. Our testing system has been significantly upgraded. Supply chain management has been upgraded through public/private partnerships and new systems to identify and deliver resources on a just in time basis.

In case you hadn’t noticed they already have. The reason for the lockdown was to keep the hospitals from overrun. Many are on going bankrupt because they are nearly empty because of Fauci’s BS projections. Yet the country is still under house arrest.
Even in New York City, the epicenter, they are sending the USS Comfort away. Not needed.

The testing is the perfect rat weapon. There will never enough and it will never end. Plus the more they do they cases they find and it keeps the curve from dropping. The Rat Governors are all using the DNC/MSM chant. We need more test before we can even go to phase 1.

It doesn’t matter. The Trump Administration has laid out the gating criteria: downward trajectory in new cases for two weeks and robust testing in place. None of the states who are in the process of opening have met those requirements so the left can whine all they want. They can’t move the requirements to something more stringent than the White House requirements. And when states open without meeting them then all the left can do is complain. Or say “I told you so” if the Covid cases take off again. As the case may be.

I’m going to break FR Protocol here and make a recommendation to all Freepers and particularly those posting on this thread.
My recommendation: Read the bloody article. It is factual and accurate. What it is not really about is goalposts. We know what the Dems and the MSM will do. That’s not even news.
What it is about is what happened, what we did about it, why we did it and what to expect as we pull back from the Lockdown. A pullback the author certainly endorses.
