Members of the Muslim Uighur ethnic group attacked people near the Urumqi's railway station, and women in headscarves protested the arrests of husbands and sons in another part of the city. Meanwhile, for much of the afternoon, a mob of 1,000 mostly young Han Chinese holding clubs and...

Less than month after U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice said that the UN Security Council was working on a resolution “with teeth that will bite in North Korea,” the Kim regime tested a battery of proscribed short- and medium-range missiles. So much for the teeth. How did the Security Council respond this time? It “condemned” the action, naturally. But, of course, the real concern of the “international community” isn’t the nuclear braggadocio of a rogue regime; it’s the mortal fear that another country might attempt to inhibit the mad brinkmanship of Kim Jong Il:

Here is video of Sen. James Inhoufe talking about his plans to question EPA officials today about an EPA report done by a longtime employee which calls into question the entire basis for Global Warming hysteria. The report was suppressed by the EPA, becoming public knowledge only after the House of Representatives had already passed the Cap and Trade bill based on the assumption that the world is in peril because of Global Warming. The suppressed report finds no basis for believing the earth is warming. In fact it says it has indeed been cooling. Inhoufe is calling for an...

Question: I was wondering how we as Protestants reject the doctrine of Apostolic Succession? Obviously, through Church history, this doctrine seems to be strongly affirmed, but when the Reformation took place, this doctrine was not continued along with other doctrines. Why not? I guess I am wondering what are the biblical mandates supporting Apostolic Succession and what are the biblical mandates and logic that reject Apostolic Succession? Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.Answer: When you say "through Church history, this doctrine [apostolic succession] seems to be strongly affirmed" you are correct because it certainly has been accepted...

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Benedict called on Tuesday for a "world political authority" to manage the global economy and for more government regulation of national economies to pull the world out of the current crisis and avoid a repeat. The pope made his call for a re-think of the way the world economy is run in a new encyclical which touched on a number of social issues but whose main connecting thread was how the current crisis has affected both rich and poor nations. Parts of the encyclical, titled "Charity in Truth," seemed bound to upset free marketeers because...
