KANDAHAR: Afghanistan’s Taliban said Monday they launched a guerrilla operation to thwart a major assault by US Marines on their Helmand strongholds.
Operation Foladi Jal, Pashtu for “iron net”, would teach the Marines “a lesson”.
Taliban spokesman Yousuf Ahmadi told AFP.
“In response to Operation Khanjar by the invading forces, we have launched Operation Foladi Jal,” Ahmadi said. “Their Khanjar will get stuck in our Foladi Jal,”. “In this operation we’ll teach them a lesson so they will never again dare to come into our areas,” he said.The operation would include improvised bomb explosions and “hit-and-run guerrilla attacks”, Ahmadi said.
“We will not engage them in front battles. We would rather hit them by mines and guerrilla attacks,” he said. Ahmadi, the rebel spokesman, admitted that Taliban fighters had abandoned some areas.

I’d say that the increased effectiveness of our Marines in killing the Taliban shows the Marines are very good students of “lessons”!
Let me guess... “mother of all battles”?
Remember boys & girls - US military casualties are only bad during a Republican administration.
They will show the Marines how cowardly the Taliban can be. Hiding behind women and kids while they shoot at the Marines.
With the Commander In Crap running the operation now, Marines can only engage after being shot at twice before being able to return fire.
Blow the country to bits, build the pipeline to the Caspian Sea and come home.
“Afterwards, we’ll hide in our homes with the wives and children so we can’t be shot at,” Ahmadi added.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA......That’s rich.....Glad to see the Taliban is finally getting a sense of humor......There is a long list of people that have TRIED to teach the USMC a lesson..(THEY ARE ALL DEAD!) The Marines do not lose courage or conviction....unfortunatly I can’t say the same for linguini spined politicians in Washington D.C.
