A limousine that crashed and killed 20 people in upstate New York on Saturday was reportedly in “terrible condition,” and was a replacement vehicle after the group’s rented bus broke down before reaching its destination. SCHOHARIE - Twenty people died Saturday's crash of a limousine in Schoharie County, State Police confirmed late Sunday morning. The crash is the deadliest in the Capital Region since the Oct. 2, 2005 sinking of the Ethan Allen tour boat on Lake George killed 20 people.

An Ellicottville resident is facing charges after allegedly slashing the tires of multiple emergency vehicles at the Ellicottville Fire Department. State Police in Machias say that 28-year-old Morgan Manfreda-Moran is accused of unlawfully entering the fire department and slashing the tires on the vehicles. Manfreda-Moran was arraigned on charges of burglary 3rd and criminal mischief end. Manfred-Moran will reappear in Ellicottville Town Court at a later date.

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. -- Nineteen people were killed when a small tour boat carrying 47 people flipped over Sunday on a lake in upstate New York, the county sheriff told the Glens Falls Post-Star. Warren County Sheriff Larry Cleveland told the paper the Ethan Allen capsized when another tour boat passed near it and swamped it. The Ethan Allen sank, he said. The 40-foot, glass-enclosed tour boat flipped around 4 p.m. on Lake George about 50 miles north of Albany in the Adirondack Mountains.

(AP) — Sealed divorce records alleging a Republican candidate for Congress once threatened his wife at gunpoint were obtained by his Democratic opponent’s campaign manager, a prosecutor said Thursday. On instructions from Democrat Samara Barend’s campaign manager, a college student went to the Steuben County Clerk’s office in September to get “publicly available information” about Republican state Sen. John “Randy” Kuhl, county District Attorney John Tunney said. (Oswego-AP) -- A central New York town is nearing six feet of snow from the latest onslaught of squalls blowing off of Lake Ontario. The National Weather Service says the town of Parish near the eastern end of the lake has received 69 inches of new snow over the past two days. The city of Oswego has another two-plus feet of new snow today while nearby Fulton is buried under about five feet of snow that has fallen over the past week.
