NEW YORK CITY --- Carl McCall says Upstate New York is getting more than it deserves.

In a downstate television commercial the Democratic candidate is asked how do you convince someone Upstate that New York City deserves the money that they are getting now for their schools.

Carl McCall's reply while standing in City Hall is:

Because you tell them that we have had a formula that hasnt worked and they have been getting more than they deserve.

WTF?!? Pardon my French...I can NOT believe he said that. I hope Pataki has that on Upstate TV 24/7 for the next five weeks. Carl is toast.

And now that I think about it, maybe this will prompt some people Upstate to start thinking about secession again. Or maybe we can see if PA is willing to adopt any areas that are willing to go.

Have seen this on TV once and heard it on radio three times in the past week. Additionally, polling indicates that Golisano is drawing support equally from both candidates. McCall IS toast.

When I lived in upstate New York, the saying was that the state was shaped like that to funnel money from upstate down to NYC.

Maybe McCall will come in third. Wouldn't that be a kick-in-the-teeth for Hillary! and the 'Rats. I don't think she'll be able to stab McCall in the back with the patented Clinton "We never really supported (Fill In The 'Rat Clintonista Loser Here)" with McCall/Pataki.

As an upstate resident, here's something I'd like to see: Rather than this region seceed, let's let DOWNSTATE seceed. Better yet, they can merge with a country with which they'll feel more at home.

Like Cuba.

And as a bonus, they can have Xillary and Chuckie Schumer.

Out in L.A. the folks in the valley have tried to get rid of the city for decades. But the govt. types and the welfare recepients outnumber the taxpaying workers. L.A. like N.Y. City know their taxes would skyrocket if they were made to pay their way. It will never happen. Time to scare little old ladies and soccer moms. The schools and children will suffer.The roads will fall apart. Our welfare as we have become reliant on will disappear.

Scenario:

McCall wants to screw upstate. Some upstate voters are tricked into voting for loser Golisano taking votes from Pataki. McCall wins and upstate gets screwed.

For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would support Golisano. He's a NY bred McCain.

What has Pataki done for upstate? Better yet, how has he governed any differently than Cuomo would have?

I voted for Pataki. Twice. I'll never do it again. Period.

I voted for Pataki. Twice. I'll never do it again. Period.

I can't speak for the entire Upstate area, but Pataki has been pretty good to the Finger Lakes region.

And, what's the alternative? A vote for McCall? A vote for Golisano (which is another vote for McCall)?
