A man was killed when he fell into a vat of molten iron at his job site. The worker was reportedly moving a sample of iron from a furnace when he fell into a melting pot of molten iron that was heated to more than 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit. The 39-year-old was "immediately incinerated," according to a press release by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. It was just his ninth day on the job. Kyle Dubois and his parents claim teacher Thomas Kelley did not warn Dubois and other students of the dangers of the electrical demonstration cords in their electrical trades class. A freshman sprinter on the University of Georgia track team was hospitalized after he was accidentally impaled by a javelin, the school said Wednesday. Elija Goodwin suffered a punctured and collapsed left lung when he backed into a javelin implanted in the ground while running backward sprints, according to a police report obtained by WXIA. Medical workers sawed off a piece of the javelin that was sticking out of Goodwin’s back, the station reported.
