A horror midair death turned a long-haul flight into what some are calling a nightmare at 35,000 feet.
A female passenger in her 60s died during the first hour of a British Airways flight from Hong Kong to London — but the plane kept going, leaving her body stored in a heated galley for more than 13 hours, according to reports.
Flight BA32, pressed on to Heathrow rather than turning back — a decision sources say reflects the grim reality that once a passenger has already passed, it’s “not viewed as an emergency.”
Crew members were left scrambling over what to do with the body mid-flight.
A source told The Sun, “Obviously, the family with the woman were distraught, and so were the crew.
The situation didn’t end on landing.
Police met the aircraft at Heathrow and ordered all 331 passengers to remain seated for roughly 45 minutes while authorities investigated the onboard death.

Does a body really smell that bad after 13 hours? I had no idea.
For the true story Paramount + series episode “Weekend At Airline Bernise’s”.
“Do you want another glass of spring water?”
Nods as plane jolts from turbulence.
Were the other passengers at least given 2 grams of pretzels, or a half a little can of Coke for the inconvenience?
That stink doesn’t leave your nose for a good long while after you e gotten away from the dear departed. Don’t ask me how I know.
Sure do. That's why I always get them in my freezer with the hour....
There may be certain leakage fairly soon after a person dies.
Quick search says minimum of 24 hours for the very beginning of decomp odor.
Is there more to the story?
That’s was I was thinking.
Her bowels emptied.
Some bodies don’t smell that great while they’re alive.
yeah, I suppose the temperature certainly comes into play, but do you go from being a person to being pudding in 13 hours?
Touché.
They should have done an “Aunt Edna” and put her on top the plane.
The guy next door to me in a boarding house at school downed a bunch of pills and a fifth of scotch and climbed under an electric blanket. Four days later I went back to get some books for Christmas break. Got the manager and went in to his room. Unresponsive, I rolled him over and maggots roiled out of his sinus. The stench is something that cannot be forgotten.
Just strap her to the roof of the plane.
“And yay, though the Hindus speak of Karma, I implore you, give her a break!”
Bodily secretions. Loose bowel and stuff ....
“ Does a body really smell that bad after 13 hours? I had no idea.”
It’s not uncommon for a person to empty their bowels while having a heart attack. I’ve seen bathrooms “painted” with poop about 4’ high.
Like a poop Claymore?
And then there was an additional 5$ charge.
