I was wondering the other day, if I ran for president, what would be my campaign promises? I made a list I'm certain can get me elected. If I'm elected President, I will… Require members of Congress to work out on the Total Gym 15 minutes each day – or else they can't vote on anything. Cut spending by dismissing the Secret Service, at least for my eight years in office (why would I need them?). Resurrect Bruce Lee and appoint him head of homeland security (OK, the CIA and FBI too). Give a presidential pardon to … no one,...

What makes a Christmas merry? It's Christmas morning and my wife, Gena, and I are celebrating it this year with her family, about 30 in all, gathered at our home in the snow-blanketed woods. Like most of you, we wake up, exchange some gifts, gather around a warm fire, play games, share meals, and spend a day grateful that we have each other. We will also read the Christmas story from the Bible and give thanks that Jesus Christ is at the heart of our family and lives. The children will even lead us in singing ''Happy Birthday'' to Him. For...

Have you heard of the "Chuck Norris Facts"? There are more than 50,000 jokes making their way around the Internet that purport to be "facts" all playing off my movie roles as a "tough guy" and my history as a martial arts champion. But they aren't "jokes" to those who spread them – they're "facts." Here are a few of my favorites: "When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris." "Chuck Norris doesn't read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants." "Outer space exists because it's afraid to...

Tuesday night at the Boston Market on East Bay Drive in Clearwater: Guys behind the counter are slinging Chuck Norris jokes. "You know what kind of furniture Chuck Norris has in his house?" says Matt Kindred, 18. "Bowflex." Matt tells another: "Chuck Norris never blinks his eyes. Never." Behind him, manager Richard Moody, 22, echoes: "Never!" Matt executes a pirouette and whips a finger at countermate Evan Heebner, 19. Evan tells the one about how Chuck Norris' tears cure cancer. "Too bad Chuck Norris never cries," Evan says. "Ooooh, good one," everyone says. There is no theory of evolution. Just...

As cherished icons of the Lone Star State, few loom as large or loved as the pony-tailed troubadour Willie Nelson or the dauntless Texas Rangers. But despite playing the role of a grizzled ex-Ranger in the long-forgotten western "Barbarosa," Nelson and those tall guys in the white hats aren't doing that well off-screen. In fact, Nelson's public association with the fundraising activities of the Former Texas Rangers Foundation of Kerrville has triggered a Ranger family feud. "We just have a real problem with Willie Nelson for a lot of reasons," said Capt. Barry Caver of Midland, one of nine top-ranking...

This is a vanity thread. The show went off the air four years ago and now its back with a two-hour movie. If y'all love Texas and the story of Cordell Walker as the Texas Ranger, you won't want to miss "Trial By Fire" this Sunday! Damn, I know its CBS but Chuck Norris is always wonderful to watch.

For 90 years, most Mexican Americans in South Texas have known the truth behind the myth — that during a reign of terror in 1915, Texas Rangers randomly lynched, shot and killed Tejanos, whose farms, ranches and land were coveted by Anglo land speculators. Kirby Warnock, an Anglo baby boomer and Dallas filmmaker who grew up in Texas watching "The Lone Ranger," also grew up on alternative stories about the Rangers from his grandfather, Roland Warnock, a cowboy who worked on Guadalupe Ranch near Edinburg in the mid-1900s. On Sept. 30, 1915, Roland Warnok witnessed the murder of two unarmed...
