This is a vanity thread. The show went off the air four years ago and now its back with a two-hour movie. If y'all love Texas and the story of Cordell Walker as the Texas Ranger, you won't want to miss "Trial By Fire" this Sunday! Damn, I know its CBS but Chuck Norris is always wonderful to watch.

LOL! He always gets the bad guys. Great American and he knows martial arts like no one else does. I've wondered what happened to the Texas Ranger family in the time that's passed since. It was my favorite show. Good values, humor, Texas scenery, conservative philosophy and ACTION!

yeah my parents watched it all the time. My mom wanted the truck he drove around...
I was generally indifferent, but when the show was on, I was generally asleep becuase I was working mids at the time :)
But I do wonder when he will change expression. :)

lol....hey, the acting on the show isn't the greatest and cops don't exactly have those martial arts skilled, but for some reason, I still had to watch it every week. I grew up watching it with my dad, so it is kind of sentimental.

If it gets good ratings, I think we'll definitely see more movies in the future. I'm rather hoping Norris would run for President.

It combines old-fashioned conservatism with an appreciation for American mores. A good clean, wholesome show and if you didn't mind the violence you could always tell the difference between right and wrong. Its not one libs will appreciate but any one who loves Texas likes the Texan way of doing things.

My loser brother inlaw who is a complete lump who hasn't worked for 20 years and is covered from ankle to chin in tattoos says he could beat up Chuck Norris with one hand tied behind his back. LOL!
He couldn't beat up Chuck if Mr. Norris was in a bloody coma. What a frickin' loser.

BTW, very few people seem to know, but the only person who Harriet Miers contributed to outside of Texas was the Nebraska attorney general who argued the state partial birth abortion ban before the SCOTUS.
Who donated as a celebrity? Chuck Norris. Great guy.

Well... a black belt's difficult to earn. He must be pushing 60 now. When the show premiered in 1993, people thought it wouldn't last. But it went on for nine seasons. I have the last season DVD boxset and I'm looking forward to the previous eight.

I don't he's interested in politics but he's always been a staunch conservative. You can tell from the movies he's made.

I dunno. I don't think anything could top "What's Happening Now". THAT was great T.V. Raj, Rerun, Dwayne, and the irrepressible Dee, will the fun ever stop? And of course, Shirley Hemphill. I don't know how they lured her off the comedy circuit, cracking up the crowds in Best Westerns from Fort Dodge to Fargo.
Oh, sure, it would have been better with Mabel King, but she was indisposed with a bad case of "the sugars". But the writing, directing, and acting was a tour'd force.

It was Jeff Foxworthy who once said, "If an episode of Walker Texas Ranger has changed your life, you maybe a redneck." Funny stuff

This is just a modern Western with a karate twist. Think Gary Cooper in "High Noon." The same elements are present here. You've got a rugged beared guy in a cowboy hat armed but he uses his smarts and fists and feet to pummel the bad guys. Roundhouse punches don't work on a Texas Ranger. I'm wondering if there's a Cooper Hayes backstory in the works.

It was never set in Austin. Too liberal. Libs hate Bush and they ain't gonna like Walker either. Something too pushy about dem Texans.

My first Taekwondo instructor fought Norris in the early '70s in competition and lost. I've fought a little competitively and there's no question those that have fought would be better prepared than those that haven't. Those that have won would be even better prepared, and Norris didn't lose much at all.
I've met Norris and he isn't a very big guy, but he's in awesome shape. Your b-i-l is an idiot.
