At least 14 deaths have been confirmed from violent tornadoes that swept through the commonwealth late Friday evening into early Saturday morning, causing significant damage in the London and Somerset areas. The wave of tornadoes flattened buildings, destroyed cars, kept thousands without power and collapsed homes and neighborhoods throughout southeastern Kentucky. The worry was that after the sun rose on Saturday more could be found injured or dead. It was the worst tornado in Somerset since 2012 when six people were killed. Gov. Andy Beshear issued a state of emergency Friday night in anticipation of the severe storms that were...

Both Poland and Romania will host presidential elections this Sunday, and a joint rally by the sovereigntist candidates from both nations saw a crowd of Polish voters chant the U.S. President’s name in response to a call for border control. Romanian Presidential election first-round do-over winner George Simion travelled this week to Poland to rally alongside the right-wing challenger for the highest office in Poland, Karol Nawrocki, calling on Europe to reject neo-Marxism, open borders, and to embrace freedom. The two men have already spoken of forming a “pro-MAGA” alliance in Eastern Europe, reports Poland’s TVP, calling also to “Make...

The decoration of a Falklands War landing craft in rainbow colours to celebrate Pride has sparked uproar among veterans, who called it “entirely inappropriate” and said, “Our Falklands dead will be turning in their graves.” The Telegraph has more. "Foxtrot 8, which landed Royal Marine and Parachute Regiment soldiers on the South Atlantic archipelago, has been coated in a rainbow vinyl wrap. Portsmouth Historic Quarter, which owns it, commissioned the decoration to mark the 25th anniversary of the ban on homosexuality within the Armed Forces being lifted. But the decoration has been criticised as disrespectful by veterans. A retired senior...

The Democrats’ hell week over this matter will continue. President Trump gave Attorney General Pam Bondi the go-ahead to release the audio tapes of Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interview with Joe Biden, which captured the former president’s shoddy memory. The signs of mental decline were pervasive, but while we were called conspiracy theorists for saying so, the Democrat-media complex continued to press on with their lies about the president’s health. Axios obtained a portion of these tapes; one of the marquee moments of the Hur report was when he noted that Joe Biden had forgotten when Beau died. It led...

Why did the DNC, White House staffers and even seasoned journalists lie to the American people when they decided to run cover for Joe Biden? It's not enough just to say, “Politics. We want power.” What was the strategy to make you do something so egregious, asks Victor Davis Hanson on today’s edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words:”

Joe Biden’s time in public office is now behind him, but his age and mental acuity have become a litmus test for the next leaders in his party. Audio was published Friday from portions of interviews Biden gave to federal prosecutors in 2023, the latest in a stream of reports putting questions about Biden's health back in the spotlight. Months after former President Kamala Harris lost to President Donald Trump, a new book alleges that White House aides covered up Biden's physical and mental decline. Several potential Democratic contenders for the 2028 nomination have been asked in recent days whether...

  • CNN’s Pérez: Biden’s Struggles in Hur Interview Could’ve Been Due to Fatigue, Not His Decline

On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” CNN Senior Justice Correspondent Evan Pérez reacted to audio of then-President Joe Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur by saying that the interview took place right after the October 7 attack when Biden “had spent that entire time, obviously, on the phone and working long hours.” And so you could wonder if Biden’s struggles in the interview are “because of fatigue” or due to his decline. After agreeing with host Jake Tapper that Biden’s decline got particularly bad in 2023, Pérez stated, “They did not want this to come out before the...

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban believes that the agreement on settlement of the conflict in Ukraine can only be reached as a result of a meeting between Russian and US presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis excoriated Trump administration lawyers Friday in a remarkable status hearing centered on Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, the Salvadorian migrant and alleged MS-13 member who was deported from Maryland to El Salvador in March in what administration officials have acknowledged was an administrative error. The heated back-and-forth was full of eye-popping exchanges between the judge and the Justice Department, as she took umbrage with their attempts to invoke the state secrets privilege to shield details concerning Abrego Garcia from the court. "What world are we living in," Xinis asked in disbelief after more than two hours...

A federal appeals court has lifted a lower-court order that prevented the federal government from implementing President Donald Trump’s plan to end collective bargaining by workers at more than a dozen federal agencies. In a 2-1 ruling Friday, the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals said U.S. District Court Judge Paul Friedman appeared to have erred last month when he froze Trump’s executive order on the subject. The appeals court’s majority said there was insufficient evidence that the National Treasury Employees Union faced “irreparable harm” that would justify the preliminary injunction, Friedman said in his ruling.

A federal appeals court on Friday lifted a block on an executive order from President Donald Trump that seeks to strip union rights from federal workers at dozens of agencies and offices. Trump in March issued an executive order that said that parts of the United States Code that protect federal workers’ rights to organize and collectively bargain would no longer apply to agencies including most or all of the Departments of Treasury, Defense, Veterans Affairs, State and Justice. The executive order covers about two-thirds of the federal workforce, according to the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), which filed a...

A radical proposal to eliminate all property taxes in Ohio is gaining momentum, and it’s revealing something profound about the state’s political climate: Ohioans are furious with their government. In a recent episode of Today in Ohio, the daily news podcast from cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer, the hosts dissected this controversial ballot initiative and the public reaction it’s generating. “Citizens for Property Tax Reform can now start collecting 413,000 signatures for a ballot issue that would eliminate property taxes in the state of Ohio,” said Lisa Garvin. The Ohio Ballot Board unanimously agreed it was a single-subject issue, clearing...

CNN — Audio of then-President Joe Biden’s interview with former special counsel Robert Hur in the now-closed probe over Biden’s handling of classified documents was published by Axios on Friday. The interview became one of the most notable and politically controversial parts of Hur’s investigation, which concluded there wasn’t enough evidence to charge Biden with criminal mishandling of records after his vice presidency. In a final report, Hur called Biden, 81 at the time, “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.” The audio comes as questions about Biden’s physical and mental capabilities have returned to the spotlight. A...
