CNN — Audio of then-President Joe Biden’s interview with former special counsel Robert Hur in the now-closed probe over Biden’s handling of classified documents was published by Axios on Friday.

The interview became one of the most notable and politically controversial parts of Hur’s investigation, which concluded there wasn’t enough evidence to charge Biden with criminal mishandling of records after his vice presidency. In a final report, Hur called Biden, 81 at the time, “a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

The audio comes as questions about Biden’s physical and mental capabilities have returned to the spotlight. A forthcoming book – “Original Sin: President Biden’s Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again” by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’ Alex Thompson – details signs of Biden’s decline while in office.

Why was the audio released now?

My hunch is the D’s want Biden to go away. Lady McBiden won’t let that happen. He showed up on The View, for example.

I guess Hur & I can agree that Biden is a man (I have a degree in biology so stay in your lane!) but I feel zero sympathy for a man who is in equal parts stupid and vindictive. His memory may be poor but what he’s forgetting is the evil that he’s done.

Not true.

There was plenty of evidence that Biden was guilty of criminal mishandling records, including the actual possession of said records in multiple unsecured locations, and Biden's admissions that he shared the information with his ghostwriter in preparation for writing a book.

Hur felt that no jury would convict Biden in his frail state, but the evidence of the crime was plentiful.

The problem with the 25th amendment is that it doesn't vacate the office of the presidency; presidential power transfers to the Vice President as Acting President, but the President still remains in office until he either dies or resigns.
