FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino issued a sharp and public condemnation of the bureau's former director, James Comey, Saturday, accusing Comey of disgracing the agency as authorities investigate Comey’s controversial "86 47" Instagram post.
In a statement posted to X, Bongino said Comey’s actions are another example of failed leadership that continues to haunt the agency.
"Former FBI Director James Comey brought shame to the FBI badge, yet again, this past week," Bongino wrote. "The Director and I spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning up messes left behind by former Director Comey. And his latest actions are no exception."
...
"As I’ve stated in the past, I cannot post openly about all the things the Director and I are doing to reform the enterprise, but I assure you, they are happening," Bongino wrote. "Sadly, many of those agenda items are the result of former Director Comey’s poor decision-making and atrocious leadership.
"And to those who doubt me, I assure you, when you see what the Director and I see from the inside, it’s even worse."
Bongino said he chose to post his statement now because his scheduled interview with FOX Business anchor Maria Bartiromo, which will air Sunday on "Sunday Morning Futures," was recorded earlier in the week, before the Comey post was made public.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
I am hoping that these findings are brought to pam bondi and the indictments and prosecutions will begin
I think Comey is a drunk. A serious late stage alcoholic. Everything that has happened with him the last few years points to it.
Keep Digging Dan!

You might be on to something, anton.
I’m familiar with such “pleas for help”.
Firing as many staffers as statutorially possible while returning duties to the states or over to the Marshalls would be a good start—and visible immediately.
Yuppers!

As the Deputy Director of the FBI, I am charged, standing with Director Patel, with managing the most powerful law enforcement agency in the world. The Director and I are also responsible for looking at grave mistakes made by people within the FBI in the past, and ensuring they never happen again.
And while the FBI does not have primary investigative responsibility for investigating threats against the POTUS, and we do not make prosecutorial decisions, we do have the ability and authority to support other federal agencies for violations of federal law. And we certainly have a responsibility to comment on matters involving former FBI officials, and allegations of law-breaking.
That said, former FBI Director James Comey brought shame to the FBI badge, yet again, this past week. The Director and I spend an inordinate amount of time cleaning up messes left behind by former Director Comey. And his latest actions are no exception.
As I’ve stated in the past, I cannot post openly about all the things the Director and I are doing to reform the enterprise, but I assure you, they are happening. Sadly, many of those agenda items are the result of former Director Comey’s poor decision making and atrocious leadership. And to those who doubt me, I assure you, when you see what the Director and I see from the inside, it’s even worse. I’m addressing this now, rather than on our interview with Maria Bartiromo tomorrow, because we recorded that interview earlier in the week prior to the incident with Comey.
God bless America, and all those who defend Her.

Comey MUST bring prison upon himself for that.
That applies to Patel and Bond1 too. How many arrests have been made from within the DC Sewer Dan? Again, do the job that you were hired to do or step aside......
Leftists are incapable of feeling shame, so don’t go looking for it.
They are inherently violent and fully capable of assassination and these threats are against the law. Since they were so vocal about no one being above the law, it’s time they got a taste of that retribution.
ALL of them.
I agree. We need to fight fire with fire legally. These people must be brought to justice.
99 % of FBI agents are good guys. Right Hannity
“ Who But a Drunk knows what ‘86’ means?”
Everyone
Everyone knows what 86 means
That is important to remember. The Leftists do not care about "Name and Shame". The target audience is Rightists and "Neutrals". It is a propaganda technique to motivate "our guys" to support doing something.
And it is only worthwhile if we do something. That means removing Leftists from power. Presumably we will use legal means to do that. Those means do not need to be "fair" or "proportionate", or "patient", or any other adjective but "effective".
So, is Comey in prison or just headed that way? Are there others within the FBI implicated in this mess?
It would make my day to see cuffs, leg restraints and frog-marching to an awaiting van.
Why are these sociopathic criminals treated with such restraint and deference???
The underlying psychological motivation is a desire to be punished for his own misdeeds. It is the reason that alcoholics with a conscious desire to hide their shameful behaviors often surprisingly engage in acts that expose themselves. Like drunk driving. A person who want to keep drinking and get people to leave him alone, knows that the fastest way to be forced into rehab is to get that second DWI. The hiding of the bottles in stupid places, not showing up for work, etc.
This is the subconscious trying to get caught. And, with that psycobabble I present Comey, who, if he was controlled only by logic would disappear like a fart in a windstorm. But, here he is getting in trouble.
