Washington, D.C. – In a bombshell report released Tuesday, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence accused the FBI of deliberately downplaying the politically motivated 2017 shooting that nearly killed House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and injured several others. The shooter, James Hodgkinson, was a far-left extremist who opened fire on Republican congressmen practicing for the annual charity baseball game—but the FBI called it “suicide by cop.”
That decision, the report says, wasn’t just wrong—it was dishonest.
The 27-page unclassified report, compiled from more than 3,000 pages of FBI records recently turned over by new Director Kash Patel, reveals that the Bureau ignored or buried clear evidence of political terrorism. Hodgkinson had a hit list of GOP members, had cased the field for two months, and had posted violently anti-Republican rants online. Yet the FBI’s leadership under then-Acting
Director Andrew McCabe told the public there was “no nexus to terrorism.”
“The FBI used false statements, manipulation of known facts, and biased and butchered analysis,” the report concludes.
The Narrative Was Set—Facts Be Damned
The report states the FBI didn’t even interview all the survivors, including Rep. Mo Brooks, who was both shot at and on the shooter’s target list. It never built a full timeline, and classified much of the case unnecessarily—hiding shoddy investigative work from public view.

I’m reminded of what my Russian friends who grew up in the Soviet Union told me about how to read the news. If “Pravda” said such and such had happened, and no one was hurt. Probably there were a lot of deaths. Essentially, whatever the news was, it was a whitewashing of whatever had happened. The government knew to say nothing was to invite rumor. Instead, they admitted something but redirected the cause or effect, so it didn’t reflect badly on the government.
Over time, they learned what the government was sensitive about and how they minimized it. The more they minimized, the more dramatic the incident.
I pretty much agree with that, but not put all the Republicans completely above suspicion neither. Kash & his crew have a lot to do.
In other words, the shooter was an FBI asset and performed as he was told to...
I hope Kash has fired everyone involved with that investigation.
we all knew this in real time, but even more disturbing is that absolutely no one will be held responsible for it assuring more of the same conduct.
Who woulda' guessed that our FBI would pull such a stunt? It's only been going on since the days of J. Edgar Hoover -- and probably before.
What does Sean Hannity have to say about this? He stated that 99% of FBVI are “good guys”.

I think Wray did reclassify the shooting to domestic terrorism 4 years ago, to yawning urinalists who promptly buried the story. Of course there was no mention of how the FBI deliberately misled the country for 4 years calling it “suicide by cop” when they knew otherwise all along.

It was obvious when it happened that it was left wing terrorism. The fact that James Hodgkinson, was a far-left extremist was whitewashed by the FBI and news media because the official narrative at the time was all domestic terrorism was from the right, so that the Marxist Democrat leadership could put plans in place for surveillance of Conservatives. The mainstream news media, as the propaganda arm of the Democrats, never allowed the dots to be connected. Expect more evidence of Marxist-Communist propaganda to come out over the next four years, which the brain washed masses will ignore. Just my thinking, your mileage may very.
