NEW: Leonard Leo is STILL sneaking Never Trumpers into the judiciary. Just last week, 4 nominees for the 8th Circuit Eastern District of Missouri had their judiciary committee hearing, and it’s SO bad. Every single one of the nominees agreed with Sen. Durbin that President Trump must follow the orders of radical judges who issue nationwide orders halting deportations of criminal aliens to places like El Salvador and Venezuela. Even worse, one nominee, Maria Lanahan, is married to Michael Lanahan, who worked for the Club for Growth—an organization that spent millions of dollars AGAINST Trump in the 2024 GOP primaries....

A federal judge on Friday ruled in favor of Missouri in the state’s $24 billion lawsuit against China’s Communist Party that accused it of hoarding protective supplies during the coronavirus pandemic. This is a landmark victory for Missouri and the United States in the fight to hold China accountable for unleashing COVID-19 on the world," Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey said in a statement. "China refused to show up to court, but that doesn’t mean they get away with causing untold suffering and economic devastation. We intend to collect every penny by seizing Chinese-owned assets, including Missouri farmland." Bailey's office...

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A federal judge in Cape Girardeau rules in favor of Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey’s federal lawsuit against China related to the COVID pandemic. Bailey calls the $24 billion judgement against the Chinese Communist Party “historic.” The state sued China nearly five years ago, the one remaining count in the suit accused China of hoarding masks and other PPE. Judge Stephen Limbaugh ruled Missouri suffered direct harm from lost tax revenue and heightened expenditures caused by the hoarding. Bailey says the judgment is six times more than the previous largest judgment in state history.

The U.S. 8th Circuit Court of Appeals put a final end to former President Joe Biden's student loan forgiveness plan on Tuesday. Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey originally sued the Biden administration over its $500 million effort to wipe away student loans, known as the SAVE plan. The court's Tuesday ruling found that Biden's secretary of education had "gone well beyond this authority by designing a plan where loans are largely forgiven rather than repaid." Bailey noted in a statement that the ruling has no active impact beyond blocking future presidents from attempting Biden's maneuver. "Though Joe Biden is out...

A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday blocked the Biden administration’s student loan relief plan known as SAVE, a move that will likely lead to higher monthly payments for millions of borrowers. The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with the seven Republican-led states that filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Education’s plan. The states had argued that former President Joe Biden lacked the authority to establish the student loan relief plan. The GOP states argued that Biden, with SAVE, was essentially trying to find a roundabout way to forgive student debt after the Supreme Court blocked his...

Update - 9:30 AM Eastern:: Late Monday night, U.S. District Court Judge Sarah Pitlyk issued her ruling on Missouri's request for a temporary restraining order as to DOJ attorneys dispatched to monitor a polling location in the City of St. Louis. Pitlyk denied Missouri's request for a TRO on the basis that the state did not adequately demonstrate that it would be irreparably harmed by allowing "two individuals at one polling place to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act." It's important to note that the proposed monitoring as to the City of St. Louis derived from a settlement...

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge in Missouri put a temporary hold on President Joe Biden’s latest student loan cancellation plan on Thursday, slamming the door on hope it would move forward after another judge allowed a pause to expire. Just as it briefly appeared the Biden administration would have a window to push its plan forward, U.S. District Judge Matthew Schelp in Missouri granted an injunction blocking any widespread cancellation. Six Republican-led states requested the injunction hours earlier, after a federal judge in Georgia decided not to extend a separate order blocking the plan. The states, led by Missouri’s...

On March 6, 2023, federal Judge Brian C. Wimes ruled the Missouri Second Amendment Protection Act was unconstitutional, claiming the Act violates the Supremacy clause of the US Constitution, invalidates federal law, and violates the doctrine of “intergovernmental immunity”. On June 12, 2021, Governor Parson signed the Missouri Second Amendment Protection Act (SAPA). The act prohibits state and local officers from cooperating with Federal agents to enforce certain federal laws, mostly to do with firearms. The Federal court system has long held states cannot be compelled to use their resources to enforce federal laws. States are not required to explain why...

President Biden and his Department of Justice were unsuccessful in arguing to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals to lift an injunction against his vaccine mandate for healthcare workers. Missouri’s Attorney General Eric Schmitt posted the one-page order to Twitter on Monday afternoon. "The 8th Circuit Court of Appeals denied the Department of Justice's motion for stay pending appeal in our lawsuit against the vaccine mandate on healthcare workers, meaning our injunction will stay in place." The legal battles within the United States over mandating a Coronavirus vaccine have been ongoing through the final weeks of 2021.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — A federal judge on Monday blocked President Joe Biden’s administration from enforcing a coronavirus vaccine mandate on thousands of health care workers in 10 states that had brought the first legal challenge against the requirement. The court order said that the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid had no clear authority from Congress to enact the vaccine mandate for providers participating in the two government health care programs for the elderly, disabled and poor. The preliminary injunction by St. Louis-based U.S. District Judge Matthew Schelp applies to a coalition of suing states that includes Alaska,...
