The Maine lobster industry is bigger and more lucrative than ever, with fishermen landing more than 130 million pounds of lobster valued at $533.1 million in 2016. That is a record for both landings and industry value, according to Commissioner Patrick Keliher of the Department of Marine Resources, who announced the results Friday at the annual Maine Fishermen’s Forum. A golfer was attacked by an alligator in New Port Richey Wednesday, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. The unidentified male golfer was reportedly bit on the foot by a seven-foot alligator at the Timber Greens Golf Course in New Port Richey. Pasco Fire Rescue responded to the golf course at about 10 a.m. and treated the man for what authorities called minor injuries.
