This is a bit lengthy, so please bear with me. Damn, but I did something stupid and downloaded something I shouldnt have (no, not porn. get your mind out of the gutter :-)). When I downloaded this virus, the cmd screen came up and showed the following: crack.exe, serial.exe, number.exe, keygen.exe AND readme.bat I panicked, deleted those things, but it hasnt fixed my problem. I have a 5-6 year old A45 Toshiba Satellite. I recently replaced the main fan to get it running again.(and added memory while it was apart) It worked for a month and now it's acting like it's overheating again. This time it give me a quick blue screen with something on it I can't read (because it disappears too fast) and starts automatically rebooting. The computer in the Living room was infected with a virus and after running the scan and fix I now have a problem with "No sound mixer device is available" error message. I have no sound. I have tried the the Service Management route and restarted the service , several times, no go. I have tried the Bios route and enabled all on board audio. Nothing. A couple of days ago, I was greeted by a message on my Gmail login screen that says, "Sorry, your account has been disabled." I did click on an e-mail a day before that turned out to be a Google-related phishing attempt, but I of course did not enter any credentials or identifying info, or do anything that would provide assistance to the phisher. The sound on my computer is not working properly. When I play mp3, mov, wav, wmv, wma, rm, and avi files, there is a beeping/crackling noise. Most of the time the jibberish noise is complete. Sometimes, a bit of the intended audio can be heard through the beeping/crackling. The only audio that plays well is from YouTube videos and .flv files.
