Two former senior FBI officials were taken into custody Friday after being charged with making false statements to Congress about their roles in the FBI’s investigations into Hunter Biden. Nikki Cole Floris, 46, and Bradley Benavides, 56, both face one count of making false statements in a matter within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1001(a)(2). The charges stem from their 2023 testimony before the House Judiciary Committee in which they allegedly denied their involvement in the FBI’s Hunter Biden investigations, despite evidence to the contrary. The FBI’s affidavit alleges the pair were “actively...

Strikes and blockades by truckers in Southern Italy this week have left many supermarket shelves bare. Those strikes and blockades in the south were matched by protests, which turned to riots in the north. Both movements were protesting the same issue: affordability. In the north, students marched against low wages, high taxes, and quickly rising grocery and fuel costs. In the south, farmers and truckers have blockaded ports and highways in protest of those same high fuel costs. The high costs are associated with fuel shortages stemming from the war in Iran, and, on Thursday, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s...

US President Donald Trump renewed calls for a change in Ukraine’s leadership on Monday as his war of words with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy continued to intensify. “I think it’s time for somebody else to negotiate on behalf of Ukraine,” Trump stated in Washington DC following criticism from Zelenskyy over the US leader’s decision to ease sanctions pressure on Russia. These latest comments followed on from Trump’s recent accusation that Zelenskyy “doesn’t want to end this war,” and his suggestion that Ukraine should get a new president “who can make a deal.” Many of Trump’s most prominent supporters have backed...

We got a perfect example of the biter-gets-bit scenario late this week featuring the larger-than-life crusader against fascism Elissa Sllotkin. We’re told that Slotnick served as an analyst for the CIA, which means that this case is a twofer, informing us what’s wrong with the Senate today and what's been wrong with the CIA for the past twenty years. Slotkin, as readers will know, made the news earlier this week with the release of a clip showing her at some sort of University of Chicago conclave threatening legal persecution for young people who took jobs in the Trump administration: "I...

The results are seen as a boost to field of cancer vaccine research. A new personalized mRNA vaccine for melanoma is being hailed by some oncologists as a major breakthrough after it reduced the risk of cancer recurrence and death by 42% compared with standard treatment in a late-stage clinical trial. 🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (10/24/26)[Prayer]Personalities Psalm 62[a]For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.1 Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. 2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. 3 How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down— this leaning wall, this tottering fence? 4 Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse.[b] 5 Yes, my soul,...

Minnesota should be setting off alarm bells in the Democrat Party right about now. Despite Minnesota being a reliably blue state, Kamala Harris only carried it by five points in 2024, and she had its own governor, Tim Walz, on the ticket with her. That was supposed to be a home-field advantage. And that was before the massive fraud scandal blew up in their faces. On Tuesday, the nonpartisan Cook Political Report shifted the Senate race from Likely Democrat to Lean Democrat. Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, the Democrat nominee, still clings to a narrow edge, leading by four points in...

Cuba paints itself as a people’s revolution… a true democracy, but the language is different from the reality. His name was Diosbel Véliz Marín. Diosbel made a living driving a bicycle taxi through the streets of Havana. A longtime opposition activist who had endured detentions, fines, and police restrictions for his political activities, he was reported stabbed to death this past August 26. The circumstances remain unresolved, and his killing has not been conclusively linked to the Cuban government. Those of us who know the history of the Cuban "revolution" and the promises made in its name know what happens...

...The City Council quietly passed a controversial bill Thursday that would give nonprofits the first shot at buying up distressed Big Apple properties if it becomes law. The “Community Opportunity for Purchase Act,” or COPA, requires some sellers to delay putting their properties on the open market for 90 days while “community land trusts” and other nonprofits have an exclusive shot at buying them up.... ...Councilwoman Joann Ariola (R-Queens) called the bill’s initial proposal an “attack on private real-estate ownership” in the five boroughs. “We’re sliding headfirst into a communist dystopia where the government and their apparatchik developers own all...

The Democrats first invented the term “October Surprise” in 1980, to describe what they claimed were secret efforts by the Reagan campaign to delay the release of our hostages in Tehran until after that year’s presidential election. Depending on the version you read, the negotiations with Iranian intermediaries were conducted by vice-presidential nominee George H.W. Bush or by Reagan’s campaign manager and future CIA Director, Bill Casey. Abolhassan Banisadr, who was Khomeini’s spokesman during his brief exile in France and later became the Islamic Republic’s first president until he broke with Khomeini in June 1981, was absolutely convinced the October...

KYIV — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy denied claims by President Trump that Starlink service had been restored in Ukraine, even going so far as to say their service had been downgraded by Elon Musk to Netscape Navigator with a dial-up connection. All Ukraine computers are reportedly stuck on dial-up, and drones don't work because there's no WiFi. This has severely limited Ukraine's ability to conduct military operations and go on raids in World of WarCraft. "It's not even 56k, it's a 14.4 modem we have to work with," Zelenskyy said. "I can't even play StarCraft. Not that I'm trying to....

A genius New York teen was denied the opportunity to graduate high school early and earn his diploma to attend his dream college due to his age — despite being a full-time community college student. Michael Sweeney, a 14-year-old homeschooler, is on the verge of applying to Arizona State University to study mechanical engineering, but his dreams were dashed when Bethlehem Central School District denied his request to enter his senior year, the Times Union reported. The teen, who turns 15 in December, tried multiple times to get approval to graduate early but school officials claimed his homeschool plan didn’t...

Both nations agreed to temporarily stop all military action in Oleshky to allow for humanitarian aid to enter and to prepare a civilian evacuation through a designated safe passageway. The localized ceasefire will begin on October 29, 2026. “The situation in Oleshky is dire. Oleshky is a front-line war city on the brink of disaster. Oleshky’s remaining population is comprised primarily of elderly residents who urgently need medical attention, medicine, food, and clean water,” said First Lady Melania Trump. “The people of...

Apple’s first foldable iPhone is drawing praise for its sleek engineering and nearly invisible screen crease — but critics say its hefty design, camera compromises and uneven app support make the $1,999 gadget a tough sell for most consumers. On top of that, early reports indicate the pricey device may be prone to crack. The iPhone Duo hits stores Friday after drawing an 8.8 out of 10 from Engadget and 7 out of 10 from both The Verge and WIRED. Engadget called Apple’s long-awaited entry into the foldable market “worth the wait,” while The Verge described it as a “messy,...
