It was meant to be an outing for Black children in Berlin and their families, offering them an exclusive afternoon at an outdoor pool set up by a local theatre. But the plans, slated for earlier this month, had to be scrapped after they were seized on by rightwing and conservative voices to whip up outrage, leaving organisers fending off racist emails and threats. Berlin’s Volksbühne theatre said it had extended the invitation in hopes of dismantling some of the barriers that would normally keep these children away from the pool. While other groups had similarly been invited to use...

He was the youngest black professor in Cambridge’s history.

...The taxpayer-funded housing program sets aside millions for families “targeted” by federal immigration enforcement—and says immigration status does not have to be disclosed. Even worse? L.A. County diverted $5 million originally approved for wildfire victims to pay these illegal aliens. ... L.A. County did not merely place wildfire victims and immigrant households inside the same newly created program. It took money already assembled specifically for wildfire rent relief—and redirected half of it to households claiming hardship from federal immigration enforcement. Following the Eaton and Palisades fires, county officials identified $10 million to establish a fund for tenants and landlords unable...

Mohamed Bailor Jalloh went to prison for working with ISIS. His college put him back on campus, without knowing why he'd been in federal prison. Sarah Adams was a targeting officer for the Central Intelligence Agency. It’s as cool as it sounds. She was in charge of disrupting terrorist attacks by identifying the people and organizations that pose a threat to the United States, a job that put her on the ground in the Middle East. She helped lead the investigation into the deadly terror attack on our diplomats in Benghazi, Libya, and then wrote the book on it....

“It’s not just a convention. This is to rally the troops,” Denton County GOP Chair Melinda Preston said. The president is insisting on giving Democrats exactly what they want: keeping the attention on him. That is certainly the likely upshot of the first-ever GOP midterm convention being held in Dallas Without an energized MAGA base, Republicans won’t even be in the vicinity of victory.

For about the 25th year, one of Free Republic's members is pleased to create a Yahoo! Pick'em Fantasy Football league. The league rules are simple: ** Pick the winners of each game ** Assign a confidence value to each game ** Post messages to each other on the message board that include bad puns ** Donate generously to Free Republic at the end of the season in the name of the top point earner That's about it. It is a wonderful time waster that really doesn't take much time. I tend to pick all the games in preseason for all...

President Donald Trump on Sunday night appeared to confirm that federal immigration authorities have active or contemplated enforcement proceedings against radical “Squad” Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota over long-standing allegations of immigration fraud. Trump shared a bombshell report from Just the News revealing that Immigration and Customs Enforcement refused to release records concerning its investigation into the Minnesota Democrat. ICE claimed that disclosing the records could interfere with “enforcement proceedings.” Trump posted the report to Truth Social Sunday evening without adding further commentary.

The commentary in a recent Wall Street Journal by Senator Phil Gramm and Representative Jeb Hensarling did the nation an immense service by dismantling the persistent myth that private market greed and financial deregulation caused the 2008 financial crisis. As they rightly pointed out, inflation-adjusted mortgage rates during the bubble era were historically high, and financial institutions were suffocating under increasingly strict federal mandates, not running wild in a deregulated vacuum. Yet, for nearly two decades, the public has been fed a completely fabricated baseline narrative. Having served as the Chief Economist at the Department of Housing and Urban Development...

Iranian state media broadcast a chilling three-minute video fantasizing about killing Barron Trump in a disturbing escalation against President Trump and his family — as Tehran braces for an onslaught of additional crushing economic penalties. The clip titled “Where to kill Barron Trump” claimed to show the movements of President Trump’s 20-year-old son, claiming he is “fully monitored” and showing depictions of the dorms at New York University’s Constance Milstein & Family Global Academic Center, according to a translation of the video by Euronews. It further stated that it uncovered Barron’s accounts for Xbox, FIFA video games, and Discord, as...

Key Points The Treasury could use its General Account to help fund purchases of government bonds, according to two senior Treasury officials. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has built up the TGA to around $950 billion currently. The Treasury surprised markets last week by doubling the size of bond buybacks, but the impact on yields was short-lived because of skepticism over the firepower available to Bessent. ================================================================= The Treasury could use its near $1 trillion General Account to help fund its recently announced plans to increase purchases of government bonds, according to two senior Treasury officials. Some of California’s most notorious killers, rapists and child predators now get a shot at freedom decades before their sentences are up thanks to the controversial elderly parole law. Inmates previously had to reach 60 and serve at least 25 years before qualifying, but legislation signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom in 2020 lowered the threshold to 50 and 20 years, beginning in 2021, as California sought to ease prison overcrowding. But the change has since come under fire because criminals opening the door to parole for criminals handed sentences designed to keep them locked up for life. While inmates aren’t...

Police in the UK have for years been practicing affirmative action for Muslims, the principle being that since Muslim areas are the most crime-ridden, police officers should “look like” those they are policing. Presumably a population that regards white policemen, infidels all and thus “the most vile of created beings,” as “the enemy” will see Muslim officers more sympathetically. One of those Muslim trainees is Mohammad Hassan of the Greater Manchester Police, who has just gotten himself into a world of woe. Christine Douglass-Williams wrote about him here, and more on Mohammad Hassan’s off-duty activity, not fighting crime but committing...

AfD leader Alice Weidel has said her party would seek to take Germany out of both the euro and the Schengen agreement if it entered the federal government, setting out one of its most far-reaching challenges to the country's existing European framework. Speaking in ZDF's summer interview, Weidel also pledged to close Germany's borders and argued that the country had been economically stronger before adopting the single currency. Euro Exit Returns to AfD Agenda Weidel reaffirmed the AfD's commitment to leaving the euro, saying she still supported the position in the party's federal election program. “Germany was significantly better off...

🇺🇸Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem🇮🇱 (8/24/26)[Prayer]PersonalitiesPsalm 2Psalm 2 1 Why do the nations conspire[a] and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, 3 “Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.” 4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. 5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, 6 “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” 7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to...

The U.S. court system is 100% broken, and nothing shows that fact better than this case out of Pennsylvania. Safon Gump was accused of fatally shooting Gregory Prince, but the trial that would have brought justice to Gump derailed because one of the jurors got high in the jury room. Because Gump remains in custody — and court rules prohibit jurors from seeing a defendant in handcuffs for fear it could prejudice them — jurors were returned to their fifth-floor room to await the all clear to leave for lunch. When Common Pleas Judge Edward J. Borkowski's tipstaff arrived to...

Chicago Sky guard Natasha Cloud fired off a pro-trans message on Sunday night following an altercation with Enes Kanter Freedom during the team’s loss to the Indiana Fever. In the third quarter, Cloud scored a bucket that led to the Fever calling a timeout. She directed her emotion toward Freedom, who was sitting near the basket at the Wintrust Arena. Freedom stood up and walked toward Cloud. Sky players and security had to get in between the two. It wasn’t immediately clear what Cloud and Freedom were yelling at each other about. Freedom was escorted out of the arena and...
