May 7 (UPI) -- Reptile wranglers in Florida said they believe they set a new local record for the Miami area when they removed 98 iguana eggs from a single yard. Humane Iguana Control said personnel responded to a home in the Miami suburb Palmetto Bay on a report of iguanas burrowing in the yard. "We removed 98 eggs," Michael Ronquillo, owner of Humane Iguana Control, told WOFL-TV. "Three female iguanas had nested in burrows that were all interconnected, and each had laid her own clutch." The business said officials believe the egg collection could be a new local record.

A kayaker was attacked and killed by an alligator Tuesday afternoon at Lake Kissimmee State Park in Central Florida, according to authorities. Authorities were alerted to the incident just before 4 p.m. when a witness reported an encounter with the reptile. Video from the scene showed law enforcement officers using both boats and helicopters to respond to the scene and potentially search for the animal. A silver sedan was backing out of a driveway when it was struck by a blue SUV traveling northbound, according to the Greece Police Department. MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ/Gray News) – A man has been arrested for the murder of a woman at an Amish community in Ohio. Samuel Hochstetler was arrested on Monday and charged with the murder of Rosanna Kinsinger, 28. Kinsinger’s death was ruled suspicious on March 13 by deputies with the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office. A New York town official has been arrested for allegedly shooting a DoorDash driver who was lost and trying to get directions, police said.
