MEIGS COUNTY, Ohio (WSAZ/Gray News) – A man has been arrested for the murder of a woman at an Amish community in Ohio.
Samuel Hochstetler was arrested on Monday and charged with the murder of Rosanna Kinsinger, 28.
Kinsinger’s death was ruled suspicious on March 13 by deputies with the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office.
Since then, Meigs County Sheriff’s Office detectives have served numerous search warrants, conducted interviews and processed evidence collected from the scene.
Detectives followed up on tips, leads, and rumors that they say helped to identify Hochstetler as a person of interest in the case.
Kisinger’s body was sent to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy.
Preliminary autopsy results were inconclusive, according to the sheriff’s office.
“This case was such a tragedy to those who knew Rosanna. She was a beloved individual in her community.” stated Sheriff Fitch. “Detectives have worked around the clock searching for answers and were able to get those answers. Hopefully this investigation helps bring some closure to the victim’s family and on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office we offer our deepest condolences.”
Mose Troyer lives in the Amish community where the victim and suspect lived and was the one who discovered Kisinger’s body. He tells WSAZ the suspect is from Kentucky and had been living with him for a few months.
Troyer says back on March 13, people in the community noticed they hadn’t seen Kinsinger all day.
Troyer says he went into her home that night and found her dead. He also says her goat was inside the home.
He says he called 911.
Troyer says it’s disturbing to think he’d been living for weeks afterward with the person who ended up being charged.
Hochstetler is being held in the Gallia County Jail on a $1 million cash-only bond.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 13.
Who would have guessed?
“ He also says her goat was inside the home.”
Uh….
Amish?? This guy’s white. Oh wait I need to put down the code book.
That straw hat has seen better days. I suspect the trespassing goat.
In his defense, she stepped on his hat.
Those Muslims are at it again.
Izzit just me or do "the other Amish" seem to get much lighter bonds?
Even if they claim the act.
Asking for a friend..🤔😠🤬
Really gettin tired of this crap..
all groups sin
There is mental illness in the Amish community as well as sexual sin.
Some of the sects permit the use of untethered cell phones
Is it them, Yogi?
...oh, wait.
After hundreds of our joking posts, this time it really is an Amish guy.
Indeed.
Wasn’t there a movie about this? I think Harrison Ford was in it.
Funny, he don’t look Amish...................😁
I kept saying the Amish are putting something into the horse’s hay. Those carts aren’t supposed to go 70 mph on residential streets. 🐴💊💊⚡⚡
I was a witness to the film.
I never saw it but the comedy series Slendgehammer (one of my favorite shows) had an episode “Witless.”
The apparent Amish ended up reforming from nonviolence and arming with automatic weapons to finally defeat the bad guys with Sledge.
Note this trivia:
“The original script described the farmers as living in a “Hamish” community, but censors pressured it be changed for fear of offending the Amish community. Alan Spencer found this amusing because the Amish community do not have televisions.”
IMDb site.
What is up with his hair ?
Looks like he stuffed a black kitty under that straw hat.
