The Democrat mayor of Newark, New Jersey, on Tuesday continued his crusade to stop Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities inside a previously vacant prison that is being converted into an immigrant detention center.
Mayor Ras Baraka arrived at the gates of Delaney Hall this morning alongside activists to demand entry into the facility that he claims GEO Group, the building’s new owner, is unlawfully preventing from being inspected.
A lawsuit filed on behalf of the City of Newark on April 1 alleges that GEO Group failed to permit entry to safety inspectors and violated city construction code, including by conducting electrical and plumbing renovations without proper oversight.
Fox News Digital reached out to the mayor's office for comment on the ongoing litigation and Baraka's visit to the facility.

You have to understand something about Newark. In a weird way Illegals actually made the city better. They moved into many terrible neighborhoods and actually fixed them up.
There’s a good chance he’ll be the last mayor of Newark whose first language isn’t Spanish.

Oh? Are you a licensed inspector, Mayor? Do you have a degree in architecture, engineering, architectural technology, or engineering technology?
Well, they can’t make it any worse.
Not going to argue there but nobody else with any sense of self preservation was going to make it better. Now at least some of the neighborhoods are much safer. Most of the illegals don’t commit violent crime and just do whatever it is they do and they actually often fix up their housing instead of just wrecking it like some others unfortunately tend to do. That doesn’t make them good, it does make them safer to be around though.
Democrat mayor nothing normal can be expected from one they are all crazy and feral.

He should be grateful, the only people that come to NJ now are ICE detainees ... everyone else fears for their lives ... going to NJ is like going to the UK NHS where people go to die.
Safer on the inside than ya are on the outside.
Last time I flew through the regional section of that airport there was only one working toilet. A true Newark experience.

The City of Newark does not own or operate the airport.⁷
And huge numbers of them are here illegally.
