Moscow CNN — In March, Russian president Vladimir Putin gifted Donald Trump a mystery portrait of the US president. The painting was delivered by Trump envoy Steve Witkoff, who, in an interview with podcast host Tucker Carlson, described it as “a beautiful portrait” by a “leading Russian artist.” Trump, he added, was “clearly touched by it.” But the portrait itself was not publicly revealed. Now, the artist behind the Kremlin-commissioned artwork has given CNN an exclusive look at the portrait. The painting gifted to the US president shows Trump raising his fist on stage after the failed assassination attempt...

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — 7News was the first to report that a male registered sex offender who now identifies as a woman allegedly exposed himself while in women’s locker rooms at eight locations in Arlington and Fairfax counties. It's kind of difficult to turn on a television or go to a movie these days without seeing Chilean-American actor Pedro Pascal. If we looked up 'overexposed' in the dictionary, we would probably see his face there, too. n addition to starring in the abysmal sequel Gladiator II, Pascal is (or -- spoiler alert -- was) also the lead in HBO's video game-based series The Last of Us. And he is a major part of TWO Disney tentpoles. He plays the Mandaorian in the series and the upcoming movie of the same name, and will be playing Reed Richards in...

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (AP) — Disgraced former U.S. Rep. A judge who allegedly helped an illegal alien evade capture has herself been arrested by federal authorities, just one week after another judge received a lifetime ban from the bench for harboring an MS-13 gang member in his own home. Judge Hannah Dugan was cuffed by FBI agents on Friday after helping the individual “evade arrest,” according to a statement by Director Kash Patel. She is charged with knowingly misdirecting federal officers away from the illegal immigrant as he hid in the courthouse. “The FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction — after evidence...

China has quietly exempted some semiconductors from tariffs, and is considering more exclusions for certain US industries, as the world’s two largest economies attempt to navigate a trade war with potentially devastating effects, according to reports. Taxes on at least eight classifications of US microchips have been lowered to zero, a huge drop from China’s 125% retaliatory tariff on all other US goods, Caijing, a Chinese financial magazine, reported on Friday. Though the article was later deleted, two importers confirmed that certain semiconductors have been spared from the hefty duties, according to The Washington Post. Chinese officials are weighing further...

A veteran Wisconsin judge was arrested Friday for allegedly helping a Mexican illegal migrant evade ICE agents in her courthouse, the FBI said. Judge Hannah Dugan, who has been on the Milwaukee County bench for nearly a decade, was nabbed on an obstruction charge after she was accused of interfering in Eduardo Flores Ruiz’s arrest last week. “We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject — an illegal alien — to evade arrest,” FBI director Kash Patel said in an X post. “Thankfully our...

NEW DELHI (AP) — India and Pakistan have intensified their hostilities over the hotly contested Kashmir region following a massacre of 26 mostly Indian tourists, which New Delhi linked to Pakistan. Here are five reasons why a flare-up between India and Pakistan matters: The Kashmir attack can lead to an armed conflict between two neighbors Under intense domestic pressure, India has...

The City Council passed a slew of bills Thursday — including one that would ban noisy non-essential helicopter flights from city heliports following the horrific crash in the Hudson that killed a family of tourists and another to add a new gender ID to city documents. The two bills easily passed the Democratic-majority council but still need Mayor Eric Adams’ signature to become laws. A proposal aimed at cracking down on tour and commuter helicopters passed near unanimously — just two weeks after a couple and their three young kids visiting from Spain and a Navy veteran pilot all died...

In 2022, California made sweeping changes to its Medi-Cal program that reimagined what health care could look like for some of the state’s poorest and sickest residents by covering services from housing to healthy food. But the future of that program, known as CalAIM, could be at risk under the Trump administration. In recent weeks, federal officials have signaled that support for creative uses of Medi-Cal funding is waning, particularly uses that California has invested in such as rent assistance and medically tailored meals. Medi-Cal is California’s name for Medicaid. The moves align with a narrower vision of Medicaid espoused...
