Ministers are planning a major overhaul to how knives are bought online after Southport triple killer Axel Rudakubana purchased weapons off Amazon before carrying out a sickening rampage at a Taylor Swift-themed dance party. Rudakubana, who on Monday pleaded guilty to the murder of of Bebe King, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, bought the kitchen knife used in the attack from Amazon when he was 17 despite having a conviction for violence. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper told the House of Commons yesterday that it was a 'disgrace' that Rudakubana was able to buy knives on...

While the legacy media is busy pearl-clutching over President Trump's pardons, they have been mum when it comes to Joe Biden's pardons and commutations including his commutation of the death sentences of 37 of the 40 men on federal death row.Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) joined Erin Burnett on CNN, and he pointed out the glaring hypocrisy. While Burnett whined about the release of J6 political prisoners, once Mullin got started, she could do little more than hang her head in shame."President Biden changed all this. Remember the 37 murderers that he commuted their sentences," Mullin stated."Remember two of them? One that...

Huntington Beach City Council members unanimously agreed to ignore California’s sanctuary state law on Tuesday night, ordering police officers to work with federal immigration authorities and notify federal officials when they are about to release an undocumented immigrant from jail. It comes as Surf City launched a lawsuit against the state claiming the current rules are unconstitutional.

Brittany Watts was arrested in 2023 and charged with abuse of a corpse following a stillbirth in her Ohio home, and her subsequent attempt to flush the second-trimester baby’s body down the toilet. Now, Watts has filed a lawsuit against the hospital, the City, two nurses, the OB/GYN overseeing her care, and multiple police officers. All charges were dropped against Watts in January 2024 when a grand jury refused to indict her, and she is now suing for damages — including mental and emotional distress, alleging that the police and hospital staff conspired against her. While the lawsuit provides more...

According to a Phys.org report, archaeologist Xingtao Wei of Zhengzhou University and his colleagues analyzed residues preserved on three 8,000-year-old pottery tripods recovered from Xielaozhuang, a site in northern China belonging to the Peiligang culture. The researchers were examining the pottery with scanning electron microscopy to study how alcohol was made when they detected the crusty residues. Additional testing with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and analysis of starch granules revealed that the residues contained compounds and minerals typically found in bone. They also detected traces of wild plants, including acorns and adlay millet. Wei and his colleagues suggest...

The Battle of the Granicus was Alexander's first major clash with the Persian Empire, signaling the start of his conquest of Asia Minor. The victory not only demonstrated Alexander's military brilliance but also opened the gateway for his future campaigns that would ultimately dismantle the Persian Empire and lay the foundation for the Hellenization of large parts of Asia. However, this Hellenization was relatively short-lived, as about a century later, the rise of the Parthian Empire saw large parts of the former Achaemenid territories reclaimed under Iranian rule...The research team used ancient texts to map Alexander's journey to the Granicus....

It may seem a bit of harmless fun, but not for the owner, who claims the 10-bedroom home set in almost 3 hectares (7.4 acres) of land near the village of Partridge Green is unsaleable in its current state. The planning statement says the Grade II-listed house is surrounded by grounds with “roaming deer, mature oak, cedar, Scots pine and lime trees” and views towards the South Downs. It was built at the start of the 20th century and a ballroom was added in 1940. In the 1970s it was converted into the “convent of the visitation” and the ballroom...

According to the West Valley City Police Department, callers from West Valley City, Taylorsville and even Murray reported hearing the loud boom just before 3 a.m. Wednesday. Outdoor home surveillance camera footage from one residence also showed a flash of light. Officers responded in the area of some reports and couldn’t locate any odd activity or objects that could have fallen. Then, the reports kept coming. “If we get like a shots fired call then, you know, we’ll get several calls within a neighborhood or maybe a quarter mile,” Merritt said. “But to get calls that are coming in miles...

Vance has been very public and honest about the struggles he faced growing up with his mother, who was an addict. His book, Hillbilly Elegy, was turned into a movie that portrayed the raw realities of the struggle many American families face. Vance’s mother proudly beamed as her son was sworn into office. Speaker Mike Johnson shared a touching video of VP Vance stepping into the Oval Office for the first time.

Even before President Donald Trump returned to office, illegal aliens were voluntarily departing the U.S. But his inauguration and the subsequent flurry of executive orders appear to have led more to make their way out of the country. “You know, I think President Trump is doing it a lot with rhetoric and now with the executive orders trying to get things done, and people are now self deporting,” National Border Patrol Council Vice President Art Del Cueto said Tuesday on the “Just the News, No Noise” television show. “It started a couple weeks ago,” he also said. “They didn't wait...

Donald Trump has warned he will impose high tariffs and further sanctions on Russia if Vladimir Putin fails to end the war in Ukraine. Writing on his social media platform Truth Social, he said that by pushing to settle the war he was doing Russia and its president a "very big favour". Trump had previously said he would negotiate a settlement to Russia's full-scale invasion launched in February 2022, in a single day. Russia has not yet responded to the remarks, but senior officials have said in recent days that there is a small window of opportunity for Moscow to...
