1995 - Mike Sigel vs. Efren Reyes
Exellent. Efren was/is an excellent player. I used to travel the pool halls in FLA and the bars playing. My favorite sport
Nice shot!
For some arcane reason Youtube’s wacky algorithm has been offering me snooker and Efren Reyes videos. He really is good.
I had a friend from Chicago long ago. She moved into her moms house in Sun City (AZ) and we went to college together. She was beautiful, very social with great personality, could be so funny and talked all about her boyfriend in Chicago all the time and all the fun times she had with him.
She told me once she when she first met him she told him and all his friends who played pool, she could ‘run the table’.
Didn’t go well.
Anyway, she talked so much about her bf she left behind in Chicago she sounded like she wished they never broke up.
She went back to Chicago that week. I always wondered if she went back to him.
Bur I bet she doesn’t say she can run the table anymore.
Played a lot myself. Reyes is the best I’ve ever seen. Absolutely amazing.
Reyes played it just the way I would have. :)
his mastery of the table verged on the supernatural- it’;s almost like he had an inbuilt gps system that laid out the lines for him on the table- it was spooky how he could pre-visualize not just one bank, or 2, but several- a very enviable trait- like how a chess player SEES the board in their mind and sees several plays ahead, knowing all the countermoves etc
one of Reye’s talents was banking and leaving the cueball unplayable if he couldn’t make his shot- and he had a great personality too- fun to watch-
i have it qued right to the shot-
Amazing!
Actually a much easier shot than that Z shot imo. I’ve made that shot or incarnations of it - using the nipple. You can do it to get out of a corner pocket w/ the cue ball as well.
Like zee mark of Zorro!
That bank-shot combination just prior to Reyes’ two-railer was lovely, also.
Very sporting gesture by Sigel in conceding the final shot.
“it’;s almost like he had an inbuilt gps system that laid out the lines for him on the table-”

I believe you are correct.
Watching him look at the table prior to each move is like watching an engineer and draftsman combined... such an inate ability to grasp the lay of the table.
That bank shot combination was an accident. He was playing safe and screwed himself. Sigel was applauding the shot because he thought he was going to win 13-12
Efren figured it out though. I agree about Sigel conceding. After that shot, no one should have to shoot a straight in 9 ball.
Never heard of him.... but, DAYUM! That was some great shootin.
