The entire political leadership in California deserves to be in jail. Okay, maybe that’s too much, but everyone must be fired. As the media focuses on the raging wildfires engulfing Los Angeles County, the lack of water and firefighters, and Mayor Karen Bass being in Africa when the blaze erupted, we have new developments on how this top-down failure in disaster response came about. Bass was already torched for cutting almost $20 million from the Los Angeles Fire Department a few months ago. The city opted to use that money to support transgender cafes, weirdo lefty-wing art, and gay choirs...

This is absolutely crazy, y'all! BREAKING 911: 200 passengers evacuated a Delta flight at Atlanta Airport after an aborted takeoff. Officials say the flight from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Airport to Minneapolis-St. Paul aborted takeoff shortly after 9 a.m. on Friday due to an engine problem. During the evacuation, four of the 201 passengers suffered minor injuries, officials said. One was taken to a local hospital. The other three were treated on the scene. "Nothing is more...

The conservative proponents of a November referendum on requiring photo identification to vote in Maine tucked in absentee voting limits that would hit two of the state’s liberal bastions hardest. The “Voter ID for ME” initiative would bar municipalities from having more than one absentee ballot drop box, a provision that would only affect Portland and Orono, the home of the University of Maine. The initiative would require a “bipartisan team of election officials” — rather than the local clerk or their designees — to retrieve ballots from the boxes...

Ann Arbor, Michigan, Sep 28, 2024 / 06:00 am For centuries Christians have attributed a first-century date to the Shroud of Turin. Nuclear engineer Robert Rucker says that his latest research on the shroud verifies that. “The Shroud of Turin is the second-most valuable possession of the human race next to the Bible itself,” Rucker told CNA. The shroud is currently preserved in the Chapel of the Holy Shroud adjacent to St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Turin (Torino), Italy. For more than 10 years, Rucker has studied the physics of the disappearance of the body of Jesus and its...

President-elect Donald Trump received his sentence for his hush money case conviction, but Judge Juan Merchan declined to impose any punishment. Trump was sentenced Friday morning in New York for his conviction on 34 felony charges in his hush-money case after the Supreme Court refused to block the sentencing, making him the first U.S. president to be convicted and sentenced for a crime to take office. Trump could have been sentenced to up to four years in prison but instead was delivered a sentence that does not include penalties like jail time or probation in what's called an unconditional discharge....

The Department of Homeland Security on Friday announced it would extend Temporary Protected Status for immigrants from Venezuela, El Salvador, Ukraine and Sudan for 18 months. Why it matters: The extensions protect immigrants before the start of the incoming administration, as President-elect Trump has promised hardline immigration policies and threatened ending TPS. Trump tried to end TPS designations for several countries during his first term. Zoom in: About 600,000 Venezuelan beneficiaries, who arrived in the U.S. on or before July 31, 2023, can reenroll to retain their status through Oct. 2, 2026. The extension was "warranted based on the severe...

On Friday, the sentencing of President-elect Donald Trump saw one of the most impassioned defense arguments given at such a hearing in years … from the judge himself. Acting Justice Juan Merchan admitted that the case was “unique and remarkable” but insisted that “once the courtroom doors were closed, the trial itself was no more special, unique, and extraordinary than the other 32 cases in this courthouse.” If so, that is a damning indictment of the entire New York court system. Merchan allowed a dead misdemeanor to be resuscitated by allowing Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg to effectively prosecute declined...

The long black wool belted coat – and its white collar jutting not so subtly out from under it – were two pieces from a unique three-way collaboration between house designer Pierpaolo Piccioli, Jun Takahashi of Japanese label Undercover (specializing in streetwear and experimental tailoring) and a group called the Movement for the Emancipation of Poetry, whose members paste lyrical lines on to the walls and monuments of Italian cities. For this look, I am told, Melania delved into her archives (rather than racing to a designer's door), for the two pieces from Valentino's Fall 2019 collection. In that show,...

Below is my column at Fox.com on the sentencing of President-Elect Donald Trump. The conviction should be overturned on appeal. However, the most lasting judgment will be against the New York court system itself in allowing this travesty of justice to occur. Here is the column: With the sentencing of Donald Trump Friday, the final verdict on the New York criminal trial of the president-elect is in. The verdict is not the one that led to no jail or probation for the incoming president. Acting Justice Juan Merchan has brought down the gavel on the New York legal system as...

Jimmy Carter spoke of how completely accepted and common homosexuality was in the time of Christ . “Homosexuality was massively practiced in some of the conflicting religions at the time of Christ and even at the time of Christ, in Roman times show that homosexuality was widely prevalent. I think it's quite significant that Jesus never did mention it.” Jimmy Carter

Axios reports that Meta is eliminating its biggest DEI efforts, effective immediately, including ones that focused on hiring a diverse workforce, training, and sourcing supplies from diverse-owned companies. Its DEI department will also be eliminated. In a memo leaked to the outlet, Meta said it was making these changes because the “legal and policy landscape surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the United States is changing.” Meta is not alone: Microsoft and Zoom have rolled back their DEI efforts. Lawsuits have emerged against programs that were targeted toward specifically the Black and Latino communities. Meta also announced this week...

Newly released police bodycam footage captured the shocking moment the New Orleans terrorist was shot and killed by police in the New Year's Day attack. WASHINGTON, D.C. — Mourners who had gathered at the National Cathedral on Thursday to say goodbye to former President Jimmy Carter came away comforted after Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood sang a song about how there's no heaven, religion is a lie, and everything is ultimately meaningless. The song, "Imagine" by John Lennon, known for its pleasant melody and nihilistic lyrics, is routinely played in Times Square on New Year's Eve as an appeal to world peace in a time of crisis, or to celebrate another year of debauchery, one of the two. Experts described the song as most suitable...

Mel Gibson is among the multiple celebrities to have lost a home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. During an appearance on NewsNation’s Elizabeth Vargas Reports Thursday, Jan. 9, the actor revealed that his Malibu home was destroyed while he was filming in Austin, Texas. "Obviously, it’s kind of devastating. It’s emotional," said Gibson, 69. “You live there for a long time, and you had all your stuff." "I had my stuff there, and it’s all like, I’ve been relieved from the burden of my stuff, because it’s all in cinders,” he added. Gibson added that he "was kind of...

Fox News host Sean Hannity takes aim at the far-left's "woke," "radical" policies as wildfires rage through southern California on "Hannity" Thursday. SEAN HANNITY: This is madness. This is insane. Keep in mind, California is the greatest example of how this woke, equity-obsessed, environmental, radical socialism, Green New Deal, statism, Marxism, socialism. This is how it plays out. This is what America avoided in this last election. Feel-good programs prioritized over infrastructure safety. Leaders are chosen for their identity instead of their merit. The city's preparedness capabilities decline. It is a disaster waiting to happen. This would be Kamala's America,...
