After many weeks of delay, debate, and unnecessary controversy, the U.S. Senate, as of Tuesday, has finally advanced vital election integrity legislation.
The Save America Act would require proof of citizenship and an ID to register to vote or to vote in federal elections, which ought not to be controversial at all but which made RINOs like John Thune and Thomas Massie dither with anxiety and which absolutely enraged Democrats.
Donald Trump had sworn not to sign any more legislation until the Senate actually passes the Save Act, since the legislation is key in this midterm election year, so the next obvious step is for Republican senators to pass it.
Earlier on March 17, the day the Senate advanced the Save Act with a procedural vote, Trump commented about the legislation. “The Save America Act is one of the most IMPORTANT & CONSEQUENTIAL pieces of legislation in the history of Congress, and America itself,” Trump posted on Truth Social.
In typical all-caps excitement, Trump continued, “NO MORE RIGGED ELECTIONS! Voter I.D., Proof of Citizenship, No Rigged Mail-In Voting (We are the only Country in the World that allows this!), No Men in Women’s Sports, No Transgender MUTILIZATION of our Children. 90% to 99% ISSUES ALL! Only sick, demented, or deranged people in the House or Senate could vote against THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.”
The president warned, “If they do, each one of these points, separately, will be used against the user in his/her political campaign for office - A guaranteed loss! Get your Senators, REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT, to VOTE ‘YES’ ON ‘THE SAVE AMERICA ACT.’ I WILL NEVER (EVER!) ENDORSE ANYONE WHO VOTES AGAINST ‘SAVE AMERICA!!!’”

Democrats are still likely to attempt to kill the legislation before it passes, as their political strategy for the future seems to depend upon election fraud.
If we don’t pass this, AMERICA IS OVER.
What I want to see is the democrat party leadership ask all their voters to boycott the coming elections, in protest of the Save Act. ;-)
What does this mean in English? Has it passed?
As long as electronic voting machines and tabulators are still in use, elections can still be stolen.
Anyone else long for the days of hanging chads...?
The procedural vote to OPEN debate is easy and, if cloture is not successfully made, MEANINGLESS. It gives Thune and ALL Senate Republicans the excuse to say “Well, I voted for it”. Let see how cloture goes and whether Thune REALLY supports it.
Murkowski voted against this. Can we finally be done with this bish? Has anyon planned to primary her?
It is very simple: America’s future is as a one party government. If we win and are that one party, America lives on. If the rodents win America is dead in two election cycles.
Any questions?
Advanced not passed.
Where in the process is this bill towards heading to Trump’s desk for him to sign into law?
In the Senate, “advancing” typically refers to the Motion to Proceed, which allows the bill to be brought to the floor for formal debate.
So, it simply means that the GOP leadership, being in the majority, has moved to begin a marathon debate. This isn’t a final vote on the bill itself but a procedural step to force senators to go on the record regarding its provisions.
But, The path to passage is mathematically and procedurally difficult. Here is the current landscape:
There’s the 60-Vote Hurdle (The Filibuster)
With 53 Republicans currently in the Senate, the bill needs 7 Democratic (or Independent) votes to reach the 60-vote threshold required to “invoke cloture” and end a filibuster.
Exactly!
When I see schmucky schooomer’s brains all over the ceiling I may start believing this is advancing. Until then the talk is just talk and posturing by rhinos. SSDD.
Yep, but by fewer means. Obviously, this doesn't mean we shouldn't do this. I just wish the SAVE Act mandated paper ballots only on election day only, with the exception of legitimate absentees. One step at a time I guess.
Yes, but I think the bigger problem was mail in ballots being dumped into the collect boxes by the tens of thousands.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day.
the hag already said she is voting no
She’s a schemer. She rigged the AK GOP primary to switch to ranked choice. She was going to lose the primary heads up, but after the switch but she got enough #1 plus #2 selections to push her over the top on points.
I don’t know what this has to do with her no vote on the SAA but it seems correlated to me.
The democrats have figured a way around the voter IDs ? LOL
