Vice President Kamala Harris’s narrow national lead over former President Donald Trump has tightened in the wake of a well-received debate performance last week by Ohio Sen. JD Vance, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll. The previous Yahoo News/YouGov survey showed Harris (50%) ahead of Trump (45%) by five percentage points immediately following September’s presidential debate — her strongest showing to date in a two-way matchup among registered voters. But now Harris (48%) edges Trump (46%) by just two points. The new poll of 1,714 U.S. adults, which was conducted from Oct. 2 to 4, finds Harris with an...

According to a survey conducted by Cygnal and sponsored by The Daily Wire, Trump leads in the bellwether counties of Erie and Northampton. Those were won by the overall winner of the 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020 elections, making them crucial battlegrounds in what is already the most important...

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris used exactly the same language in a portion of their statements marking the first anniversary of the October 7 terror attacks as they called for an end to war in Lebanon. Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing roughly 1200 people, including dozens of Americans. The Iran-backed terror group also took over 250 hostages; four Americans remain among the living hostages in Gaza. Both Biden and Harris’s statements expressed horror at the attacks, solidarity with the victims, and hopes for the return of the hostages. Both supported Israel’s right to...

Earlier this year, we suggested that the fevered fearmongering of an MSNBC panel brought the mind the Rolling Stones song "Gimme Shelter." After the rancid rabble-rousing of today's Morning Joe, perhaps, in the run-up to the election, the song should become the official anthem of the liberal media. Joe Scarborough, after calling Trump supporters "stupid" for believing his "lies," kicked off the fearmongering by alluding to, but failing to name, the host of a show on "another network" who supposedly said that elections don't work, and that war is the only solution. Daily Readings from the USCCBThere was a scholar of the law who stood up to test Jesus and said, “Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Luke 10:25The question is very good. We should all seek to understand, with all our hearts, what we must do to inherit eternal life. Of course the problem is that this scholar of the law did not ask this question with sincerity and openness. Rather, he asked Jesus this question to test our Lord. This scholar, as well as other scribes, Pharisees, Sadducees and elders, was envious of Jesus and sought to...

MOSCOW, Oct 7 (Reuters) - A Russian court on Monday sentenced 72-year-old American citizen Stephen James Hubbard to six years and 10 months in prison after convicting him in a closed-door trial of serving as a mercenary for Ukraine, a Reuters reporter in the courtroom said. Investigators said Hubbard, a native of Michigan, was paid $1,000 per month to serve in a Ukrainian territorial defence unit in the eastern city of Izyum, where he had been living since 2014. They said Hubbard was provided with training, weapons and ammunition when he allegedly signed up in February 2022, the same month...

1: Machu Picchu, Peru Few places capture the imagination like this archaeological site, a citadel built by the ancient Incas in the 15th century and mysteriously abandoned. Machu Picchu's network of dry-stone walls and agricultural terraces etch the mountaintop site, surrounded by Andean peaks. Throw in llamas and alpacas, who graze on grassy slopes nearby, and you have a winner.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent a letter demanding that the federal government fulfill its legal obligations by providing any information it possesses regarding the citizenship status of people who may be illegally registered to vote in Texas. On September 18, Attorney General Paxton urged the Texas Secretary of State to request data from the federal government that would enable Texas to determine the citizenship status of certain registered voters without a State of Texas-issued driver’s license or identification card. To expedite the process of voter eligibility verification, Attorney General Paxton requested a list of the approximately 450,000 voters whose...

We are at the first anniversary now of one of the most grotesque episodes of ancient savagery wreaked upon the modern world: the October 7 attacks in Israel which left over 1200 innocents dead and many more wounded and/or taken hostage by the subhuman terror organization Hamas. But instead of solemn, worldwide commemoration of this ongoing nightmare, with unified sympathy and support for the Israeli victims and survivors, we are treated to the Left-wing counter-narrative of pro-Hamas, anti-Zionist protests and opinion pieces in the news media demonizing the Jewish state and drowning out the echoing cries of the Israeli dead.Over...

Hello all. Just wanted to pass on word so ya'all will have a head's up. I was notified by son in FL that all his online credentials was hacked. He didn't go into specifics (I'm sure that will be forthcoming) but he had to migrate to a new email address and his financial logon credentials had to be changed as well. I was also informed by my ex-wife that her Google Play was hacked as well. I hear this kind of stuff is on the rise, so I implore all my fellow Freepers to be on their guard. I never...

Vice President Kamala Harris issued a statement Monday in commemoration of the October 7, 2023, terror attack on Israel, expressing sympathy for the victims but adding that she would “always fight for the Palestinian people.” Harris’s message continues a pattern of equivocation by the Biden administration — showing solidarity with Israel against terrorism, but also showing solidarity with the Palestinian cause in whose name the terror was committed. While describing the October 7 attack in graphic terms, and calling for the release of the remaining hostages, Harris also added that she was “heartbroken over the scale of death and destruction...
