New York City police are searching for five suspects wanted in a "gang assault" on former New York Gov. David Paterson and his 20-year-old stepson on Manhattan's Upper East Side, according to officials. The attack, which unfolded around 8:35 p.m. Friday by 96th Street and 2nd Avenue, began as a "verbal altercation" between the suspects and the 70-year-old former governor and his stepson, the NYPD said.

Article says that the suspects had had a previous verbal spat with the stepson.

I expect 100% of New York City residents will be crime victims, any more.

I read in another story yesterday that Paterson and his son told the teens to get off a fire escape they were hanging out on, and as they walked away from the scene, the teens followed them.

Photo.

I first thought I recognized them from my Bible study group but then I looked closer and saw it wasn’t them.

Talk about weird coincidences — Curtis Sliwa’s (founder of the Guardian Angeles) ex wife (Sliwa has been married 4 times) with whom he had a son, Anthony, re-married - to former NY governor David Patterson.

RE: he told them to get off the fire escape...

He’s old enough to know fellow persons of color do not respond favorably to being told what to do by others, regardless of accomplishments.

Civil rights advocate and famous columnist Carl Rowan shot at a “teen” using his swimming pool and got in trouble.
1988.

From WaPo:

By Carlos Sanchez
June 15, 1988 at 1:00 a.m. EDT
Syndicated newspaper columnist Carl Rowan, saying he feared for his life, shot and wounded an unarmed Chevy Chase man early yesterday who apparently had been swimming uninvited with a group of companions in Rowan’s back yard pool.

Rowan said he shot the young man after the man failed to heed warnings to stop and lunged at him.

But the shooting victim, Ben Neal Smith, 18, of 4614 Norwood Dr., who was treated at Georgetown University Hospital for a wound to his left wrist, said he never posed a threat and said Rowan had no right to shoot him.

Rowan, who has written articles favoring more stringent
gun control laws, faces the possibility of a misdemeanor charge for possessing a handgun that police said was not registered under the District’s tough gun control law. D.C. police confiscated the weapon and turned the matter over to the U.S. attorney’s office.

Rowan said he had trouble last summer with people climbing over his eight-foot-high fence to get to his pool.

If Paterson had anything to do with lax criminal laws, he deserves the beat down .His stepson didn’t deserve it. And Paterson needs to apologize to his stepson.
If Paterson was a law and order governor he didn’t deserve it...but it shows how far the Dems and their voters have destroyed New York. State and city.

I know where the Cops don't need to look for the perps, any NYC areas considered to be geographically food deserts.

I remember that case. He was a big gun control advocate, and then used a weapon he didn't own to shoot someone.

If I'm walking down a street in NY City, and I see some kids hanging out on a fire escape, I'm just going to keep walking. As a white person, they might choose to follow me anyway, but I sure wouldn't provoke them. I worked in uniform in NY State's prisons for 25 years, and know enough not to go looking for trouble. The other article didn't say who told the kids to get down, but since Paterson is legally blind, I'd bet it was the stepson, especially since he was supposed to have had a previous run-in with those same kids.

Kids hangin’ around a fire escape probably looking for an open rear window or door to go in and rifle da’ joint.
Fairly typical for New York kids....summa’ my friends in New York engaged in such endeavours...not to mention breaking windows, starting fires for the fun of it, smokin’ at age 7, schoolyard fights, etc...

I was born in 1947 in Rochester, NY. We played board games, cowboys and Indians, dodge ball, hide and seek, and other outdoor games, went exploring empty fields, looking to see what critters we could find, watched the black and white TV we had at home. Times were simpler back then, and kids had better manners.

We still had a country back then.

Thanks for that info, I was wondering about that.

"We still had a country back then."

Yes we did. I'm glad I'm on the tail-end of my life. Hopefully I'll be gone before this country turns into a total third-world $hithole. If they steal this election again, all is lost.

Not quite. 100% minus the percentage that are the criminals.
