...for the plaintiff, that is. This is supposed to be the last day of his case. We shall see. The big revelation on Thursday was Mann declaring that he had not spent a dime of his own money on his defamation suit these last twelve years, and that he did not owe any debt for those twelve years of legal services at no cost whatsoever. A lot of observers in Courtroom 518 of the DC Superior Court seemed to think this was a big "Gotcha!" moment. Not me. It was mere bleak confirmation of what I had always suspected. I...

WASHINGTON, Tuesday, Jan. 26. A NEW FEATURE IN THE PRESIDENTIAL QUESTION. Prominent Germans who arrived here from the West to-day, indicate a new element in the Anti-Slavery politics, with reference to the next Presidency. The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project recently procured a cache of government documents that expose a disturbing pattern: left-wing NGOs seeking to mobilize the state against political opponents on specious accusations of “violent extremism.” According to the report, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) urged Washington State’s “unified counterterrorism” center to investigate me, Daily Wire host Matt Walsh, and social-media influencer Libs of TikTok, under the false pretext that our reporting on gender theory in schools and transgender medical interventions constitutes “hate,” “extremism,” and “violence.” The campaign to mobilize law enforcement against critics of gender ideology or critical race theory is not a...

Scientists applied a simple approach for growing hBN films on the surface of ubiquitous steels and other metal alloys to “armor” them and thus increase their capabilities. Credit: Adam Malin/ORNL, U.S. Dept. of Energy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hexagonal boron nitride coatings on metal alloys enhance durability, reduce friction, and protect against harsh conditions, paving the way for improvements in solar panels, semiconductors, and aerospace components. Researchers demonstrated that stainless steel and other metal alloys coated with hexagonal boron nitride, or hBN, exhibit non-stick or low-friction qualities along with improved long-term protection against harsh corrosion and high-temperature oxidation in air. They've had days to examine all the write-in ballots in the Democratic primary Results: Biden (write-ins) 63.9%.Dean Philips 19.6%. Marianne Williamson 4.0. Others (on the ballot): 4.2% Write-in: 8.3% The assumption has been that almost all of the "Write-in" votes are Biden. That may be true for the 90% of the write-in thus far. But the remaining 10% could well be votes for "CEASE FIRE NOW" or "Bernie Sanders." Write-in ballots are only tabulated by name if there is a filing for a candidate's official status as a write in.

The average college student has average intelligence, concludes a meta-analysis by Canadian researchers, writes Ross Pomeroy on Big Think. In 1939, when only 10 percent of Americans enrolled in college, the average IQ was 119. By 2022, it's down to 102, not significantly above the average of 100. “The decline in students’ IQ is a necessary consequence of increasing educational attainment over the last 80 years,” the researchers wrote. “Today, graduating from university is more common than completing high school in the 1940s.” The “Flynn effect” -- a steady rise in IQs from 1940 onward -- has been well established,...

Daily Readings from the USCCBLeaving the crowd, they took Jesus with them in the boat just as he was. And other boats were with him. A violent squall came up and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already filling up. Jesus was in the stern, asleep on a cushion. It may come in the form of a tragic event, a deep wound inflicted by another, the effects of our own...

If 30% of the population was gay by birth, they we would see that number in all animals. That we don’t, is proof that homosexuality is not a natural occurrence. The natural occurrence of homosexuality would be a defective mutation that would take that animal’s DNA out of the gene pool. Fun Fact: Did you know they justify promoting homosexuality to children because it will reduce the birthrate and thereby change the weather?

The Department of Homeland Security and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency knew that mass mail-in voting during the 2020 election contained risks but continued to flag social media posts raising such concerns as disinformation, according to new documents obtained by America First Legal in its lawsuit against the agency. The CISA documents appear to show that in September 2020, officials knew that mail-in voting came with election security risks and that there was no evidence to support the claim that in-person voting would “increase the spread of COVID-19.” Officials also were reportedly aware that mass mail-in efforts presented challenges...

The invasion is underway, and the next Alamo for Texas might be Eagle Pass. Things are getting hotter than usual along the southern U.S. border, brought to a head by the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision earlier this month that allows the federal government to remove razor wire the Texas government installed along a section of the Texas-Mexico border. While this would not normally be a problem, things are anything but normal along the border right now because the Biden Administration not only doesn’t want to do its constitutional duty to protect the country and enforce the laws of the land,...

In late December, after US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen borrowed $90 billion in just one day, the federal government’s public debt eclipsed $34 trillion for the first time in history. The steady accumulation of public debt has become a mainstay in modern America, seemingly as inevitable as death and taxes. But something strange happened when the US passed yet another trillion-dollar debt milestone. There appeared to be concern. “The federal debt starts the new year at a level that is hard to grasp: $34 trillion,” the New York Times declared in a piece titled “The Debt Matters Again,” and even “…federal...

PAPILLION, Neb. (Nebraska Examiner) - Former Tea Party darling Dan Frei of Omaha filed late last week to challenge U.S. Rep. Don Bacon of Papillion in the 2024 GOP primary in the 2nd District. Frei had no immediate comment Saturday about filing. He told the Examiner in early January that he was seriously considering a bid against Bacon. Frei later courted partisans attending a Nebraska Republican Party fundraiser in Omaha involving Arizona U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake, who has still not conceded her loss in Arizona’s 2022 governor’s race. Some leaders in the Nebraska GOP have said they prefer candidates...

The current reasons that many, many more are buying guns are not the past’s ‘regular’ reasons. It’s a .38 Special revolver. Up until one month ago, I had scant idea what such a gun looked like or could do. My husband eventually made the decision to get a gun, which surprised me a little as he is a very peaceable man. Yet, he is a lover of the U.S. Constitution: peaceable, but no fool. This week is our 30th anniversary. For our anniversary present, we bought the gun together. We have talked about buying a gun over the past few...

Ending months of negotiations, the US government on Friday approved a $23 billion deal to sell F-16 warplanes to Turkey, after Ankara ratified Sweden's NATO membership, the State Department said. As required by US law, the State Department notified Congress of the agreement, as well as a separate $8.6 billion sale of 40 F-35s to Greece. Turkey will get 40 new F-16s and upgrades to 79 of the jets in its existing fleet, the State Department said in a news release. The United States did not green light the transaction until Turkey's instruments of ratification of Sweden's membership had arrived...
