Mystery shrouds the deaths of three Kansas City Chiefs fans found dead in their friend's snowy backyard after a Jan. 7 NFL watch party.

Jordan Willis hosted the gathering in his Northwest 83rd Terrace home. After Ricky Johnson, 38, Clayton McGeeney, 36, and David Harrington, 37, were found dead on his property two days later, he reportedly told family members that his friends "froze to death," a victim's family member told FOX4 Kansas City.

Wanted to get Freepers' takes on this. Me? I think they took fentanyl or similar like many do without thinking and accidentally overdosed. The guy who stayed inside didn't die, but was out of it for 48 hours. I don't know why he wouldn't just say they all took drugs unless he was the one who supplied it and is worried about being charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The parents of one of the dead said the person that killed their friends had a tendency to make homemade versions of synthetic drugs. They think he made a bad batch that ended up killing them, but I don’t know if they think the drug killed them or their incapacitation from the drug that led them to freeze to death.

Of course all were adults and took the drug so there would be shared risk and responsibility. Idiots. Why wouldn’t booze and cigarettes be enough?

This will likely turn into a cold case.

We live in a culture of bigger, better, longer, lower and wider. That goes for drugs and getting high as well.

Another article called the live one an HIV researcher.

Making homemade meth for a gay binge may not be normal, but as we have seen in the Ed Buck case, meth and gay raves are the norm.

Yeah, someone is protecting the live one.

I never thought about the gay storyline. I just thought that some person made homemade drugs and and friends partook, like a weekend thing.

Darwinism. I hope the dead ones have not reproduced.

Toxicology will likely tell the story. I suspect the one who survived supplied the “juice” then after they died or were incapacitated took them outside so as to make it appear they froze to death. He better find a non-extradition country to get to before the toxicology comes back. Of course, since dead men tell no tales, they might have difficulty proving who provided the drug.

I think the gay thing is highly unlikely — these people had kids and female fiancees. The home made drug thing is a possibility. Why people want to ruin their brains with chemicals is beyond me. Pot in the 70s and 80s was bad enough.

I highly doubt the one guy could lug three dead bodies outside by himself. No, the three went outside to sober up with the cold air and instead froze to death.

The questions should become clear from the toxicology reports....one assumes the live guy also submitted blood and tissue although 48 hours after so his system will of course have much less. That drugs were involved seems almost certain but lots of questions arise.....what specific drugs and were they willingly taken or taken without knowing. What residue was found in the house?

Can fentanyl or in combination with something else make a person so hot that it explains why they were outside to cool off and then fell asleep due to being incapacitated? Does a different drug combination explain why live guy remained inside and just slept?

Nobody killed anyone; the cops have said it is not being investigated as a homicide.

If this sort of thing happened more often, perhaps more people would see the danger and futility of watching NFL games. :-P

The three that had to drive home went outside to sober up or to smoke cigarettes and fell unconscious and froze to death.

The idea of becoming an addict is always at the forefront of my mind when the idea of trying a drug crosses it. It isn’t going to happen willingly. I can’t promise that somehow won’t try inadvertently if somebody drugs my food or if they slather a doorknob with fentanyl, but it won’t be something I intend to do.
