Afederal judge has declared that a law banning Americans from possessing guns in postal offices is unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Florida ruled Friday that a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling from 2022 made the postal office gun ban illegal. As part of the decision, she dismissed part of an indictment charging postal worker Emmanuel Ayala with illegally possessing a gun in a federal building. She said the criminal charge violated Ayala’s 2nd Amendment rights. [link to judge's opinion included in article]

The crowd waved signs calling for an end to abortion and proclaiming their rights as parents to be involved in their children’s lives. Several American flags peaked over the heads of the crowd decked in T-shirts with sayings such as “Leave Our Kids Alone” in large bold letters as a Christian worship band opened the rally. The rally and march Saturday joined a growing...

“We need immigrants in this country,” Democratic Rep. Jerrold Nadler said Thursday during a House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement hearing. “Our vegetables would rot in the ground if they weren’t being picked by many immigrants — many illegal immigrants.” “The fact is, the birth rate in this country is way below replacement level,” he continued. Nadler is adamantly anti-life, and given that abortion is responsible for the deaths of millions of unborn American children, it’s unlikely that he’s sincerely concerned about the United States’ replacement rates.Nadler’s remarks recall the Democratic party’s past reasoning for supporting slavery....

Twelve of them approach our level of technology." "Have you approached those twelve?" "I have. Six of them are artificially-intelligent races of machines, five are organically-based, and one race consists of coherent magnetic fields that can only exists in stars." "That last one interests me. Judge Aileen Cannon denied without prejudice Special Counsel Jack Smith’s motion to compel Trump to disclose his defense strategy in the classified documents case in Florida. In November, Jack Smith tried to force Trump to disclose his decision on whether he would use an “advice-of-counsel” defense in the classified documents case. This could have forced Trump to waive attorney-client privilege. Thankfully Judge Aileen Cannon, a Trump appointee, denied Jack Smith’s request. “Denying without prejudice Special Counsel’s Motion to Compel Disclosure Regarding Advice-of-Counsel Defense. The Court has reviewed the Motion, Defendants’ Opposition, the Special Counsel’s Reply, and is fully advised in...

Nearly 5 million taxpayers who have unpaid tax bills from 2020 and 2021 will have almost $1 billion in penalty fees waived by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). The IRS announced penalty relief in December for taxpayers who had outstanding tax bills but were not sent automated collection reminder notices during the pandemic. Though the notices did not go out in 2020 and 2021, the failure-to-pay penalty accrued for taxpayers who did not fully pay their bills. "As the IRS has been preparing to return to normal collection mailings, we have been concerned about taxpayers who haven't heard from us...

Lord Howe Island Stick Insect (Dryococelus australis) (Zoos Victoria) Only 20 to 30 'tree lobsters' remain in the wild. This single fragile population was rediscovered in 2001 after the insects were presumed extinct for 80 years. These wild Lord Howe Island stick insects (Dryococelus australis) currently cling to their precarious existence on a near-vertical volcanic outcrop called Ball's Pyramid. Now, San Diego Zoo is inviting visitors to see the extraordinary, extinction-defying Australian animals in person. Prone to catastrophic weather events and landslides, Ball's Pyramid is not exactly a safe place for a critically endangered species. Here there's only one species...

A letter written by a Roman emperor helped lead a team of archaeologists to an ancient temple that "adds significant insights into the social changes" from pagan beliefs to Christianity in the Roman Empire, experts announced recently. We have seen where the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) will be in 30 years, and it’s in the form of herchurch, a heretical church in San Francisco within the Sierra Pacific Synod, the most progressive entity of the ELCA. Founded initially as Ebenezer Lutheran Church by Swedish immigrants in 1884, the church served the community for many years until Rev. Stacy Boorn took over. Ordained in 1987, Boorn describes herself as a “Pastor & Priestess of Ritual” and claims that her “malestream theological education opened the door for her to build a Goddess-inclusive congregation and ministry.” Inhabited by...

There is a reason the Founding Fathers attached the requirement of being a “natural born citizen” to the President (and, with the passage of the Twelfth Amendment, the Vice President) only and no other federal offices. The idea was to elevate the threshold for the highest elected political office of the land; notably, that language is absent in Article I, which stipulates that lawmakers running for the House or Senate need only be “citizens” to qualify. The early debates surrounding the passage of the Constitution add support for the view that the Framers wanted to exclude “the admission of foreigners...
