WASHINGTON — The Education Department announced Friday it would automatically forgive student loans for more than 800,000 borrowers. The action is a result of what the department calls a “fix” to income-driven repayment plans. It's expected to total $39 billion in federal student loan forgiveness. The department said the move will address administrative issues in the income-driven repayment system. Under the plans, federal student loan borrowers are eligible for forgiveness after 20 or 25 years of payments, depending on the plan. But for some, qualifying payments that “should have moved borrowers closer to forgiveness were not accounted for,” it said...

A plausible fourth failure of a defensive firing of a handgun against a bear has been discovered. The fourth incident was found in the incidents discovered in the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for a polar bear and human conflict database. The incident occurred near Churchill, Canada, as part of two incidents from October 19 to October 26, 1986. Bear spray had recently become available. There are two separate incidents. The first involves bear spray, which marked the bear. The second involved “cracker shells” and a .44 caliber handgun, probably a .44 magnum. From the FOIA, incident 41:October 19-26,...

"However one chooses to slice it, Sound of Freedom has over-delivered on expectations in dollars and cents, a feat of profitability uncommon for a comparatively low-budget production without a major Hollywood-led promotional campaign. Judging by the robust round of applause that concluded the fully-seated screening I attended on Wednesday evening – and this, in the liberal Sodom of Manhattan! – it would seem that the folks at the two-year-old Angel Studios have tapped into a substantial and eagerly marshaled viewership. Following that money leads back to a more unsavory network of astroturfed boosterism among the far-right fringe, a constellation of...

As the U.S. deals with the consequences of mass immigration, important lessons can be learned from our oldest European ally. Over the past few weeks, France has been engulfed in riots after a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop. The rioting and looting have largely been centered in communities with many migrants from North African and Islamic nations. The rioting has caused more than one billion dollars in property damage, and has led to thousands of arrests. It has also led to a renewed debate in Europe about the costs of mass...

House Oversight member, Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, has confirmed that the "unnamed" foreign national who allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter Biden with $10 million, was none other than Burisma founder Mykola Zlochevsky. The now infamous FBI FD-1023 form provide by Wray had redacted Zlochevsky's name but detailed a $10 million bribe to the Bidens with someone connected to Burisma. Putting it all together... We know that Zlochesvsky was already paying Hunter an exorbitant sum, $83,000/mo, to sit on the board of his Ukrainian energy company. We know Zlochevsky was facing a corruption investigation in Ukraine by prosecutor Viktor Shokin. We...

And just like that, the January 6 insurrection is no more. And the deconstruction story is really something. At the center of this narrative switcheroo is non-other than Ray Epps. Before we get to that, let’s remember how we got here. It took only moments for the Democrat media complex to anoint the January 6 breach and riot at the U.S. Capitol Building an “insurrection.” As if beckoned by an unseen force, narrative builders dutifully lined up to receive the official wafer on their tongues, and voilà! “Trump supporters” who had never committed an act of violence at years of...

WASHINGTON (AP) — The IRS is showcasing its new capability to aggressively audit high-income tax dodgers as it makes the case for sustained funding and tries to avert budget cuts sought by Republicans who want to gut the agency. IRS leaders said they collected $38 million in delinquent taxes from more than 175 high-income taxpayers in the past few months. In one case, an individual had used money owed to the government to buy a Maserati and a Bentley, and roughly 100 high-income individuals attempted to get favorable tax treatment through Puerto Rico without meeting certain tax requirements. Many of...

"You are a chosen race" (1 Pet. 2:9). Election is the spiritual privilege from which all others flow. Unlike those who are destined to destruction because of their rejection of Christ (1 Pet. 2:8), Christians are an elect race of people, bound together by God's redeeming grace. That's cause for great celebration! First Peter 2:9 is an allusion to Deuteronomy 7:6-9, which says, "You are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the...

God shows us how we can live without fear. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear…” (1 John 4:18, NKJV). In short, if we are living in fear, we are ignorant of perfect love. John is not saying, “Perfect love for God casts out all fear.” He is saying that perfect love begins with abundant and generous love for one another. It is a fact beyond doubt that we love God, but consider what John says about perfect love earlier in the chapter. “If we love one another, God abides in us, and his love...

The Biden administration will announce Friday it is ready to distribute $20 billion in taxpayer dollars for “clean energy projects” across the nation. These include – but are not limited to – building more electric vehicle charging stations, residential heat pumps, and community cooling centers, all as the Biden administration continues its drive to push Americans away from relying on fossil fuels. Two programs from a federal “green bank” worth more than $14 billion and $6 billion between them will offer competitive grants to states, tribes and nonprofits to invest in clean energy projects, with a focus on disadvantaged communities,...

General Sergei Surovikin, a deputy commander of Russia's military operations in Ukraine who has not been seen in public since last month's armed mutiny by mercenary fighters, is "resting", a lawmaker from the ruling party said on Wednesday. WASHINGTON — The long-burning battle on Capitol Hill over whether to base US Space Command headquarters in Colorado or Alabama has spilled into congressional deliberations on the Pentagon’s annual request to reprogram current year funds — with a group of Colorado lawmakers accusing House Armed Services Committee Chair Rep. Mike Rogers of holding up $4.1 billion to force a decision. “Congressman Mike Rogers has decided to not approve hundreds of millions of dollars for our service members and our nation’s most vital defense programs. This is outrageous. This legislative hostage-taking is unconscionable and must stop,” the Colorado delegation, led by...

The horrifying discovery of skeletal remains found washed up on a popular beach has shocked locals and sent the internet into meltdown. Bobbi-Lee Oates came across the alien-like remains while walking a beach at Keppel Sands on Queensland's Capricornia Coast last week and turned to a marine biology Facebook group to solve the mystery. 'We came across this, wondering if anyone has any idea what it is or who I could possibly get to find out exactly what it is,' she captioned photos of the eerie discovery. ..... .....

One of the Biden administration’s big arguments for racially discriminating against white and Asian students in college admissions was the need for military diversity. More than half of the ‘national interest’ section in its amicus brief argued that the military “depends on a well-qualified and diverse officer corps” which requires that colleges select for diversity over merit. “It is not possible to achieve that diversity without race-conscious admissions, including at the nation’s service academies,” Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar told the Supreme Court. The Roberts decision in Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard shot down affirmative action as a legal practice,...

This is the moment the star-studded cast of Oppenheimer walked out of the film's UK premiere on Thursday as thousands of actors went on the biggest strike to hit Hollywood in 60 years. Footage from the black carpet, which was brought forward by an hour to avoid clashing with the strike's announcement, showed the cast posing for photos together before making their way back to their hotel in London. Stars including Emily Blunt and Florence Pugh were visibly emotional as they exited the premiere early, with the film's director Christopher Nolan later saying the cast had left the event to...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemLuke 21 The Widow’s Offering 21 As Jesus looked up, he saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. 2 He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins. 3 “Truly I tell you,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. 4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” _______________________________________________________New International Version (NIV) Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV® Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by...

The cars that were going to save our world from the scourge of carbon-based global warming are, says one media outlet, “piling up on dealer lots” because they can’t be sold. Maybe we’re finally at the point where most if not all of those who are desperate to demonstrate their green cred already have an EV and don’t need another battery-powered adult toy. Even though “the auto industry is beginning to crank out more electric vehicles (EVs) to challenge Tesla,” Axios reported Monday, “there’s one big problem: not enough buyers.” Two days later, Market Watch said that as “EV sales...
