"However one chooses to slice it, Sound of Freedom has over-delivered on expectations in dollars and cents, a feat of profitability uncommon for a comparatively low-budget production without a major Hollywood-led promotional campaign. Judging by the robust round of applause that concluded the fully-seated screening I attended on Wednesday evening – and this, in the liberal Sodom of Manhattan! – it would seem that the folks at the two-year-old Angel Studios have tapped into a substantial and eagerly marshaled viewership.
Following that money leads back to a more unsavory network of astroturfed boosterism among the far-right fringe, a constellation of paranoids now attempting to spin a cause célèbre out of a movie with vaguely simpatico leanings. The uninitiated may not pick up on the red-yarn-and-corkboard subtext pinned onto a mostly straightforward extraction mission in South America, pretty much Taken with a faint whiff of something noxious in the air. Those tuned in to the eardrum-perforating frequency of QAnon, however, have heeded a clarion call that leads right to the multiplex."

Without exception, every single "critique" of his movie is utter nonsense and are shear lies. How they've come up with Qanon connections and right wing conspiracies, is beyond me, except to say those who spew that about this movie are nothing short of absolutely evil.
While most of us here on F/R who have seen the movie have given it rave reviews, as do I.
But, I am wondering what most of you think of this movie being an (hopefully non-political) Oscar contender. I personally think the movie was exceptional in several categories, including best picture, actor, supporting actor, supporting actress, directing, cinematography and documentary feature.
What say you all?
Says the KKK-adjacent Charles Bramesco.
The Guardian: The People’s Daily in English.
Considering 5he movie was made 5 years ago the comparison is flawed. The movie predates Q by years
The movie was made five years ago.
QAnon has nothing yo do with it.
Likely why the adjacent is in the headline now.
Too many consumers were on to the canard.
This “Q-anon” crap is typical. It shows who they really are, those who make that link. I will assume they are all for child abuse.
That said, I am going to see it. I think it is a great subject for a movie.
I don’t think it will get ANY Oscar nominations, because those have as much to do with quality as the Miss Universe contest has to do with attractive females, meaning nothing at all.
My wife and I checked out a movie from the library “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, and both of us thought it was no better than horse droppings. Probably five or ten minutes into the movie, they introduced homosexual character plots, and when I see that now, I shut it off.
My wife continued to try to watch, but never finished it either.
That is an Oscar-Winning movie.
I stopped caring after “Shakespeare in Love” was awarded Best Picture over “Saving Private Ryan”. And it has only gotten worse since then.
The "academy" will pretend this movie doesn't exist.
The 'media' is doing what they are being directed to do.
It is opposed by the pedophile party
Along with their enablers.
I think Charles Bramesco is a Pedophile writing a hit piece to cover for himself and other pedophiles. He is actually suggesting Homeland Security is QAnon! Perhaps he said the quiet part out loud?
Great movie! And true!!
the LEFT is pro-child sex trafficking apparently
Your testimony is probably the 30th or 40th such story I have heard and it is the same as mine.
“I wasn’t going to watch it or at least I was on the fence until I heard the leftists trash it. Now I want to watch it to ‘own the libs’.”
Is it possible that we are being manipulated?
Would this movie be doing so well at the box office if the censorship narrative wasn’t involved?
“The ‘academy’ will pretend this movie doesn’t exist.”
That’s already happening in the media. When the weekend movies were being recapped and discussed on Monday, this one wasn’t even MENTIONED. It’s invisible. I think (am not sure) it was a Fox report shown on our local Fox station.
Yes the movie is an account of a true story. It has nothing to do with Q.
I saw the movie on 7/2.
IMHO, Sound of Freedom will not even be nominated.
They are going to ignore it and pretend it doesn’t exist.
This is because Hollywood is full of pedophiles and sexual deviants.
Most people are totally unaware of what Adrenochrome is and how it is obtained.
An excellent movie about a tough subject
The Guardian is a Far Leftist rag.
Run by smelly maggots.
