Republicans in Congress have said for decades that they want to abolish the federal Department of Education, which was established in 1979 under President Jimmy Carter (D) and operates now on a $68 billion budget. An 18-year-old Tallahassee resident charged with murder elicited gasps from a courtroom Friday during his bond hearing. Khalil Pugh, who was charged with felony murder, malice murder and vehicular homicide, flipped his middle fingers at the judge, according to WCTV, when his bond was revoked. Pugh allegedly crashed a silver sedan into a Thomasville, Georgia Walmart last Wednesday.
