He has my support in 2024 because I know he won’t recklessly send Americans to fight overseas.A few days before America’s 2022 midterm elections, Ukraine’s President Volodomyr Zelensky accused Russia of firing a rocket into Poland. It was a claim with extraordinary implications. Poland, a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, benefits from the alliance’s mutual defense pact—an attack against one is an attack against all. The U.S. would plausibly have an obligation to respond militarily to a Russian attack inside Poland. In making the accusation, Mr. Zelensky was pushing on the dominoes that could start the world’s first...

A top insurance research analyst has found a 7% aggregate mortality increase for each COVID vaccine dose received, meaning a “fully vaccinated” individual who took 5 doses increased their risk of death by 35%. Josh Stirling joined the “American Thought Leaders” podcast last week to break down alarming mortality data from the CDC and from within the insurance sector itself. “We pulled together an analysis that uses CDC data from the United States that compares the vaccination status, ranked by the number of doses across regions in the U.S., and compares that to the amount of increase or decrease in...

It was probable that there were some millions of proles for whom the Lottery was the principal if not the only reason for remaining alive. It...

Kyle Rittenhouse, who skyrocketed to fame in right-wing circles after shooting and killing two protesters during a social rights march in 2020, is now facing a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the victim's father, according to PBS. The lawsuit was filed by John Huber, the father of one of the two victims, and also includes city officials and police officers. U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman dismissed motions from the city officials, police officers and Rittenhouse to dismiss the civil rights case in its entirety. Huber's lawsuit states that Rittenhouse conspired with police officers to intentionally cause harm to the protesters...

The SARS-CoV-2 virus is still spreading worldwide, and there is an urgent need to effectively prevent and control this pandemic. This study evaluated the potential efficacy of Egg Yolk Antibodies (IgY) as a neutralizing agent against the SARS-CoV-2. We investigated the neutralizing effect of anti-spike-S1 IgYs on the SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus, as well as its inhibitory effect on the binding of the coronavirus spike protein mutants to human ACE2. Our results show that the anti-Spike-S1 IgYs showed significant neutralizing potency against SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus, various spike protein mutants, and even SARS-CoV in vitro. It might be a feasible tool for the prevention...

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the...

Candlewax and Hedgehogs—a peculiar way to entitle an article, I’ll admit. But both have their associations with the second day of February. The first is more important so we’ll begin there. The second day of February is one of the 12 great feasts, and is also celebrated by Christians in the West. The feast is the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, described in the second chapter of St. Luke’s gospel. There we are told that the Christ child was brought by his mother into the temple in fulfillment of the law, 40 days after his birth (February 2 is...

Sodom and Gomorrah were real cities, and real people lived there. These were notoriously sinful cities God warned but eventually destroyed because of their wickedness (Genesis 19:24). These cities, infamous for their debauchery and homosexuality, are mentioned 23 times in Scripture. When Jesus taught about judgment, He referred to Sodom and Gomorrah (Matthew 10:15). Historians acknowledge them; Muslims and Jews record their existence along with their decadent behavior. Billy Graham told us, "If God doesn't judge America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah."In World War II, the allies bombed Hamburg, Germany, killing 40,000 with one of the largest...

A Welsh courtier with the boldness to bed the queen lost his head this date in 1461 … but his career in usurpation was just getting started. The House of Tudor that would come to rule England counted Owen its sire; the four-year-old grandson he left at his death grew up to become the first Tudor monarch, Henry VII. Owen produced the root of this august line with Dowager Queen Catherine of Valois, the French princess Henry V had extracted as part of the price of peace after Agincourt. That union was supposed to join the two great realms, but...

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) used a press conference Wednesday to make clear his response to recent mass shootings in California will be to limit concealed carry. The Sacramento Bee reported Newsom is rallying behind Senate Bill 2, which tightens concealed carry permit issuance requirements in response to the Supreme Court of the United States’ Bruen (2022) decision. That decision struck down New York’s proper cause requirement for concealed carry permit issuance, which, as result, also gutted California’s “good cause” requirement.

(Daily readings from the USCCB)“Now, Master, you may let your servant go in peace, according to your word, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in the sight of all the peoples: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and glory for your people Israel.” Luke 2:29–32At the time of Jesus’ birth, there was a man named Simeon who had spent his whole life preparing for one significant moment. Like all faithful Jews at the time, Simeon was waiting for the coming Messiah. The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would indeed see the Messiah...

OSHKOSH, WI -- On the heels of the release of a system-wide free speech survey, UW System President Jay Rothman sat down with a bipartisan panel of free speech experts Wednesday to discuss the results and what university leaders can do to promote civil dialogue on campuses. The 97-page report summarizing the survey results was released Wednesday afternoon. The survey sparked controversy when it was first announced in 2021 as some said it wouldn't be useful. It was originally scheduled to go out to students last spring, but was postponed until the fall 2022 semester. It asked students from each...

My favorite movie is Groundhog Day, and I have made it a personal tradition to watch it on... Groundhog Day, much to my wife's chagrin. This post is in honor of that tradition: It’s Groundhog Day 2023 and here are 17 of the best quotes from the iconic 1993 movie to celebrate the holiday. Occurring every year on February 2, Groundhog Day is a popular North American superstition that revolves around an animal called a groundhog. If the rodent emerges from its burrow and sees its shadow due to sunny weather, it will retreat back to its den and winter...

The archbishop of Canterbury has said he would rather see the Church of England lose its privileged status as the established church of the country than risk the global church fracturing over disagreements on same-sex marriage, the Guardian has been told. Justin Welby, who will crown King Charles in a religious ceremony in May, reportedly made the comment at a private meeting with about a dozen MPs at Westminster on Monday. The MPs raised concerns about the prospect of the C of E offering blessings to same-sex couples who have legally married, but continuing to refuse them a church wedding....

A furry critter in a western Pennsylvania town has predicted six more weeks of winter during an annual Groundhog Day celebration. People gathered Thursday at Gobbler’s Knob as members of Punxsutawney Phil’s “inner circle” summoned the groundhog from his tree stump at dawn to learn if he has seen his shadow — and they say he did. According to folklore, if he sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter. If he doesn’t, spring comes early. The “inner circle” is a group of local dignitaries who are responsible for planning the events, as well as feeding and...

As much as I try to stay on top of the news, occasionally a bombshell slips by. One such piece of news was broken a couple of days ago, though for some reason it’s not getting much attention from conservative media. Rumors have spread that Tyre Nichols, the black man who was beaten to death by five black former Memphis police officers, was in a relationship with one of the ex-cop’s baby mama. It started with a Tweet by Sir Maejor: BREAKING NEWS: I am being told that Tyre Nichols was in a relationship with and worked at a Memphis...

President Biden’s approval rating remains mostly unchanged despite a majority of Americans disapproving of the way he has handled the discovery of classified documents at his residence and former office, according to a new poll. The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll found that 41 percent of U.S. adults approve of Biden’s performance as president, 2 points lower than the 43 percent recorded in December. That comes as almost 40 percent of respondents said they disapprove of how Biden has handled the classified document disclosures, while 23 percent said they approve and 36 percent said they neither approve...
