https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/USA/united-states/fertility-rate US TFR is 1.74 and below the replacement level of 2.1. It has plummeted rapidly over the past decade. American fertility dropped for briefly in the 1970s. So three things are important here: 1) why is this important, 2) what is the cause, and 3) how do we fix this? Why is this important - It is disgusting that I need to say why this is important. It is disgusting that there are Malthusians who accept the lie of overpopulation even right here on Freerepublic. The primacy of reproduction is seen in God’s command to go forth and multiply....

HEADQUARTERS ARMY OF THE POTOMAC, CAMP NEAR FALMOUTH, Friday, Jan. 23, 1863. The second attempt on the part of the Army of the Potomac to obtain possession of the southern bank of the Rappahannock as a base of operations against Richmond has been foiled. There is this difference in the two attempts, however, that in that made six weeks ago we were able to force the passage of the river: this time we have not been able to effect this even. What the deadly aim of the rebel sharpshooters and the murderous fire of a hundred cannon were unable to...

Hollywood unleashes a monster upon itself. Cinema is a rare art form that transcends all boundaries and brings people together. Nowhere else does a diverse group of people sit together to experience similar emotions simultaneously. Audiences are enthralled together, they laugh together, they cheer together, they jeer together, they cry together, and if the work is admirable, they applaud together. SNIP When award nominations are announced, many in the media study the demographic groups of the nominees instead of the quality of their work. A few days back, the same Hollywood that sanctimoniously brands a large section of the public...

FairTax gonna put a tax like 25% at the checkout stand ..... Say What? Yeah, 25% sales tax ..... uh-huh ..... yep. Maybe 28%, yep. I know what you're thinking: "OH HELL NO. GTFO!" I was posting intensely ten plus years ago about the FairTax. Went to Houston, visited Leo Linbeck Jr. who has since passed on. I studied the history of taxation. The initial GTFO! reactions did not deter, did not phase me. Why? Because 51 years elapsed between a flawed unconstitutional income tax passed in 1862 (quickly repealed) and the 1913 16th Amendment. ..... 51 fricken years. So...

As a direct result of student complaints that his course was too difficult, Maitland Jones will no longer be teaching organic chemistry at New York University (NYU). Jones has a distinguished record, having taught at Princeton for 43 years before retiring. He then continued to teach at NYU for 15 years because he loves his subject and wants to share his enthusiasm with later generations. The termination of his year-by-year contract came because he refused to lower the standards of learning that students were expected to attain. This serves as a sad reminder of the many things that have gone...

With his January 17, 2023 video "It's time to stop," Steven Crowder, host and owner of the biggest conservative channel on YouTube, an equally impressive channel on Rumble, and the website Louder with Crowder, spent 28 minutes airing his concerns that conservative media entities are overly helpful to Big Tech control of speech and questioning the effects such business arrangements have on the culture and the country. Crowder described terms offered to him by an unnamed big conservative media company. I immediately thought of bad music industry contracts. Referring to conservative corporations that use contracts to enforce cancel culture as...

Big Tech layoffs are hitting the short-lived, so-called “diversity, equity, and inclusion” industry hard in 2023, Bloomberg reported Tuesday. Twitter’s DEI team is down from 30 to just two people, one former employee told Bloomberg. Another DEI employee at a rideshare company was let go and has been unable to find new employment, claiming the industry is stalled as technology companies deal with ongoing financial issues and giant cuts to their workforces. Listings for DEI jobs dropped some 19% in 2022, a larger hit than than other legal and human resource jobs, Bloomberg noted. While other jobs in Big Tech...

More than half of LGBTQ parents in Florida are considering moving their families to another state over concerns that a new Florida education law – known to its critics as the “Don’t Say Gay” law – stigmatizes LGBTQ identities and creates a hostile learning environment for LGBTQ children or students with LGBTQ family members. In a report issued Tuesday by the Williams Institute, a public policy research institute based at the UCLA of Law, and Clark University in Massachusetts, 56 percent of LGBTQ parents surveyed said they were considering leaving Florida over concerns about how the new law may impact...

Adam Schiff REALLY wants to keep his seat on the House Intel committee. He’s super serious about this. So is Democrat Majority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. He really wants Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell to stay on the Intelligence Committee, contrary to what Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy has promised. So the media is rubbing their hands with glee waiting for the fight to start.
